I posted this question last month, but I would like a few more answers.
My neighbor's dog always licks itself when it sees me. Some people said I am making the dog nervous. I've never harassed the dog and normally just walk by the gate and say hello. I can see it sniff for a few seconds and then it immediately goes into this crouching position and start licking itself. Once I walk away, the dog will sit back up and wait for me. And when I come back...it starts licking again! The dog is a pitbull (about 3 years old).

I don't wear heavy perfume. The dog will normally lick its legs or paws, but sometimes it has licked its genitals! The way the dog crouches down is in a shy kind of manner....like it is turning its body away from me. But I like I said, everytime I move away, the dog will sit back up and wait for me to come back.
