I've seen the sunset from the beach in the Mediterranean. I've climbed the mountains in Greece. I've held my children right after they were born. I have the love of my friends. Life is good, you just have to grab it and hang on.

If you are a laborer, wages stack up kind of like this.
38 years ago, I made $7.50 an hour. Had full medical and dental for my family and my house payment was $99.00 for a brand new three bedroom home. Cost of home complete=
$14,600. That same home today costs $214,000
the cost of living has gone up 500%. and wages have gone up 200% on average.
In the U.S.A. if you are poor and do not have a college education. You are going to be a lot poorer next year than this one.
The key is to invent, get an education, marry rich, get into polotics=where the real money is, (work for the government) become a cop, or some other socialistic job, (find a nitch where you can become self employeed or in a partnership.
If you think work in America is going to pull you out from under poor= NOT. 40 years latter people are being paid less per HR. now than then with no medical or dental. America has ridden the backs of the poor and made them the modern day slaves of old.
If you are young and able bodied, join the service and make the best of it. At least you will be able to eat, and have security.
If you are young, don't plan on Social Security to bail you out of a financial mess at retirement age..
What is life good for? Not much if you do not believe in God.
Now do you understand why people sell drugs? They get beaten to death financially, parosited off of, and become so desperate that any thing is worth more than desperation.
Pray to god and ask God how to pray. Make a plan and work the plan because poor or in jail sucks.

Just wondering why you asked this in the religion section? It must mean that you want a religious answer. So, if you are not a "born again" Christian, life on earth will be a big waste of time, unless you repent of your sins BEFORE you go to the grave. As a Christian, it doesn't matter if you're rich or poor because when you go to the grave as a Christian, you will have eternal life in heaven with God and have riches beyond imagination!! If you don't accept the Lord and go to the grave, you will be with Satan and have a fiery grave for eternity. The choice is easy...

Life should be more than self serving. If that's all you have it will never be satisfactory. We are here to help others in need and give a hand up and not a hand out. Christ came to teach us to love one another and the love he speak of is ( Agape ) in the Greek and it is far more than a feeling. Most happy people I've seen are always busy helping someone else, and still have time to do their own work. They will also be rewarded later. This will work no matter what your religion is.

hmmm...it doesn't have to be that way. Everyone on this earth has a purpose. Your 'goal' is to find your purpose. Life is what you make out of it. As you search for your purpose, change the things that you are able. Find things that make you happy. Happiness doesn't have to be expensive or even cost money. Sometimes the most joyous things are free. Get involved in positive activities, clubs, groups, classes. Learn more. Read. Enjoy nature. Change your eating habits. Exercise. Relax.

Failing to realize what the good is in life.Common mistake. Probably not your fault. Try reading the neo-tech discovery by Frank Wallace.Give life a chance. Perhaps the neo-tech system would help give you purpose. At the end of the day it is up to you to make yourself happy, good goin' guy, ask the hard questions.

Back through the years
I go wonderin once again
Back to the seasons of my youth
I recall a box of rags that someone gave us
And how my momma put the rags to use
There were rags of many colors
Every piece was small
And I didnt have a coat
And it was way down in the fall
Momma sewed the rags together
Sewin every piece with love
She made my coat of many colors
That I was so proud of
As she sewed, she told a story
From the bible, she had read
About a coat of many colors
Joseph wore and then she said
Perhaps this coat will bring you
Good luck and happiness
And I just couldnt wait to wear it
And momma blessed it with a kiss
Chorus:
My coat of many colors
That my momma made for me
Made only from rags
But I wore it so proudly
Although we had no money
I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
So with patches on my britches
Holes in both my shoes
In my coat of many colors
I hurried off to school
Just to find the others laughing
And making fun of me
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
And oh I couldnt understand it
For I felt I was rich
And I told them of the love
My momma sewed in every stitch
And I told em all the story
Momma told me while she sewed
And how my coat of many colors
Was worth more than all their clothes
But they didnt understand it
And I tried to make them see
That one is only poor
Only if they choose to be
Now I know we had no money
But I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
Made just for me

Life is 100% what you make of it.
If you choose to squander it, get no education and be a bum, good for you.
Some people choose an alternative way of living the one and only life we get, and it is pretty damn good.
Atheist.

It's good for ALL the pleasures OUTSIDE of work, and the millions of things you get to enjoy BEFORE the grave.
I agree with the first answer... it's all in what you make it.
