Ibuprofen & honey tea are great. Echinacea tea is great, too (it's in the supermarket Comfort Seasons or something like that) by the tea.

Bad cough: Gooey cough - Guiafenisin
Dry cough - Dextromethorphan

Mucinex DM has both cough medicines and will probably take care of your cough, if you drink enough water. At Wal-Mart, there is a generic Mucinex DM, much cheaper.

However, if you don't feel much better in a couple of days, you probably need an antibiotic, and you know where you have to go to get one...

gargling salt water multiple times a day with soothe a cough,if your mouth/tooth is infected and it traveled to your chest this could be a problem, you can always gargle peroxide it will kill infection. If you are coughing up phlegm, take an "expectorant",ask the pharmasict to find it for oyu and take it during the day. This wil break up the phlegm in your chest and it will break it up and you'll spit it out all day. This link has a list of things you can get below.if you don't get better withing a week and if you get worse, you must find a free/low cost clinic, county clinic or hospital that will provide you with the antibiotics you need.Especially if your phlegm is not clear and discolored this means its infected and you need meds.I am sure if you look for clinics in your area with a sliding scale or state funded places, you can get simple antibiotics. If you have a severe fever,go to the ER...

Take a cup of warm water. Put some salt into it and gargle. I know this works, because a few months ago I had the same thing as you. I tried this and it worked.

Good luck and get well soon!

I think you have the symptoms of tonsillitis but it is still best to go to a health support. Take lots of fluids( fruit juices), fruits, and also honey. It will eventually go away but beware- if that is tonsillitis, do not just try to heal yourself because that may lead to a rheumatic heart disease. I'm not scaring you. Just go to someone you know who knows such things like using medical herbs or anything.

.Good Luck .

Fix a glass of hot water and put lots of salt (and vinegar if you can) in it...... stir to dissolve and then gargle, getting it down in your throat, and spit out.

Drink lots of water.
