I think it's because they are amusing to them. Bee's buzz around their heads, swooping around and about, so dogs have fun chasing and catching them. Not to mention they get to eat them. A fun snack (treat)!

i dont believe they like to eat them they are like us annoyed by them and since they are not able to use a fly swatter or a slipper they use what nature has given them now cats on the other hand take flying things on like a challenge you know that cat mouse theory once they catch it play w/it until it dies judt my guess to bad they do not have a natural swatter like the cows mooooo swat my tail back in fourth :-) ((((bbh))))

It's obviously fun. Dog's unfortunately don't stop playing with them when they are stung. People will stop.

I think it's because they look like it might be fun to catch them .My dog eats flies, gnats, moths or anything else he can catch.
