there's nothing wrong with being a scientist and being devoted to your religion. take the Creation scientists for example. they use the Bible to help them discover more about the mysteries in nature and science. many people do not know, but the Bible has explanations in things related with science too..

I think at some point that person is going to have to make a choice, because eventually these two things cannot be reconciled--but I would admire his open mind in exploring different ideas until he figures out the truth (and it's not going to be religion).

I'm a Catholic and into both. We need both and they are not in conflict with each other. The only conflicts come from man himself. I really don't care what you call me and I'm not going to change. At the age of 70 I don't have to change.

Depends on the level of education.
If it's just some undergraduate I'd call him/her someone who's fairly normal.
If it's a PHD I'd call him a person who might have balance.
And if it's an RSer, I'd call them a person who knew little about science, or religion

Confused! But God's Word will stand firm and true throughout mankind and beyond. You don't have to open a text book to realize where we came from or why we exist. God had it planned before we were ever created! He knew us before we even existed.......what an awesome God we serve!

There is no reason not to be involved in both. Truth cannot conflict with truth. There can be no conflict between true science and true religion.
