If there is a virus on my computer. Don't want to do that with AVG in the system. And since I've paid for 2yrs of AVG don't want to lose it or have problems.

Try using some of the online scans to check your machine. The purchased version of AVG is fairly good (any of them can miss something though) Using the online scans won't interfere with the loaded one. The other option is to copy the avg installation file to a CD then uninstall the program. You should be able to re-download the program file from AVG all you need is the key to reactivate the download.

download the different one shutdown avg install it virus scan then delete the virus then uninstall the virus progarm then restart avg
