Dear, if you want them to find out the problem , you're going to have to let them put a tube down your nose and throat. It's not that bad.
I had to have the same procedure done once when I got violenty sick with upset stomach and vomiting. The cause? Taco Bell's food...I should have sued Taco Bell. Since then I have never eaten another morsel at Taco Bell, and this happened to me in 1982
Also it sounds like you might have hepatitis, but I wouldn't know for sure.
My suggestion to you is to take a soup spoonful of baking soda mixed with warm water, eat some lettuce and call me in the morning. It's your diet dear... change it and you'll be more than better off for it.
I changed my diet and I don't get sick anymore and I am able to stay out of the hospital. After all, who wants to be in an American (U.S.A.) hospital these days? Certainly not me, you might as well write your own death certificate.

Have the test done. That's called a scope and it's nothing. I have had it done. You go to sleep and don't even know it. They just gave me valium. Believe it or not that knocks you right out.
It could be the beginnings of an ulcer, problems with the lining of your stomach, etc. You should get your intestines checked out too, but best you check your stomach out and make sure there is nothing bad happening there.
Better to rule out the bad stuff, then you can deal with the minor stuff. It could just be acid and that can be treated but rule out the negative things like cancer.
Trust me the scope is nothing. My dad had a feeding tube up his nose into his stomach in hospital while sick, and I watched him pull it out and them put it back in with NO anesthesia so you can rest assured it's not a big deal. They will go through your mouth and it will take less than 10 minutes tops.
Good luck.

ABSOLUTELY MY DEAR! I have lived with this condition my whole life. I inherited it from my family. The medical diagnosis is simple gastritis. Well, that doesn't help does it? Your doctor is a gold bricker! He is way out of line in jumping to EGD tubing you. From his or her perspective this is a money issue to him or her. Let me explain myself from a personal history view. First, I have always been a very ambitious person (internalized stress is an important issue). I drive myself to compete. As a part of that my stomach acid secretions tend to be on the high level. So, I must accommodate my stomach on a regular basis or suffer the consequences. Over the years I have developed an acid burn of the sphincter between the stomach and the food tube that goes down. As the acid increases the stomach begins to pulsate (for lack of a better term). That is when I start to feel hungry. Your doctor's blood test only looks for evidence of a bacteria that lives in you that has been associated with gastic ulcer. Assuming that it was positive, he treated you with an antibiotic. I had that done and my test was positive. I was treated and darn. That tx didn't do squat for my symptoms. So, just like my dad, I had taken one H2 blocker medicine every night of my life and 99% of my days are just fine. They only times when I "break through" and have symptoms are when I eat too much over time and not exercise enough, and dring too much alcohol and coffee.
Well to life my dear. You wil do fine. DON"T LET YOUR DOCTOR DO THE EGD TUBE!

Don't worry about have the endoscopic procedure,
it's not bad, it's not really pleasant,
unless they knock you out to begin with,
which is what I'd recommend.
This is how they found out that
I had tears in my esophagus.
I had the same things going on, just like
you are having now.
Don't worry, it's treatable.
You may also be experiencing
a Hiatal Hernia, also not fun,
but technology has really come
a long way in the past 10 years.
After you have this done,
you will understand why.
But right now,
that terrible "FEAR" of the unknown
is bugging the willies out of you.
I know & I do understand.
I have to go for a follow up in December,
because we moved to TX &
I have all new doctors.
I hate having to "break in" new doctors.

Hi Jillian,
I sympathesise with you. It must be a nightmare going thru' such pain and hunger and not knowing the real reason.
I'm afraid I can't help you much but, the endoscopy suggested by your doc is prob the best way to go. It is not at all painful or invasive. You'd be put on anaest. and you wdn't feel a thing. It will be over in your 'sleep'. I went thru' it. It wd put yr mind and body at rest. You are also prob getting stressed becos of this and this will add to your problems.
So, go and get yrself checked and keep a record of your symptoms in a personal medical 'journal' of sorts. We tend to frget the impt info when asked later by the doc. So the journal wd really help.
Maybe you could review your diet and start eating more carbo foods that'll fill you up - also nuts and fruits.
Good luck.

You could have worms ; a worm treatment would do you no harm . Do you take plenty of exercise ? A lack of exercise can make you feel always hungry . Exercise releases chemicals in the body , that make you not hungry more than for normal meals . You are not pregnant by any chance , take a test .
Don't be a baby ; the endoscopy is no big deal . You are an adult now and have to do what is necessary to take care of yourself .

I would suggest that you have a worm infestation in your lower gut, the symptoms sound the same as mine when I served in the army in Malaya in the sixties. It turned out to be a worm I had ingested with my food (K. Rations) I suffered nausea and vomited a few times but always felt hungry. A course of anti-bio tics and I was right as rain in no time at all! Have a great day.

First get rid of your idiot doctor. with current trends in bacterial infections NO ONE should EVER just take random anti-biotics, it probably just made it worse. second, the problem is most likely not with your stomach. Its most likely a brain chemistry thing. your stomach has no ability to actually tell you you are hungry, thats the job of certain hormones, which are normally released when your stomach begins digesting food. If those hormones arent released, your body never knows its full. if you are eating plenty, then theres not anything physically wrong with your stomach, its the chemicals. find a doctor whos read a journal in the past 8 years and ask him to refer you to a gastro-enterologist, (stomach doc) and go from there.

The 1st thing I'd want to rule out is a parasite. This is a simple test, but requires a stool sample (still better than a tube down your throat). Any chance you experimented with some ethnic food or ate some undercooked meat?

I'm always hungry, but that's because I'm a pig.
Don't sweat the camera. They'll numb your throat and you won't choke or anything like that.
If you really can't deal with it they'll put you under.
Let them go have a look. If nothing else it's a couple of different pictures for the refrigerator.
