Eww sick...
White phlegm means you are having an allergic reaction, allergies...
Yellow, Orange phlegm means you are sick and have an infection and your body is trying to get rid of the infection. It is important to discard the phlegm when coughed up, do not re-swallow it even though it may taste good.
Why are you going to the doctor for a cold? Doctors can't do anything for colds. So yeah, go to the doctor and make him richer than he needs to be while he prescribes an expensive, ineffective antibiotic. Colds are viral, not bacteria sourced. If you go to a doctor for a cold, you’re just fueling his incentive to take that free trip to the Bahamas that pharmaceutical industries front the bill for. Don’t you realize that?? He’s not going to tell you he can’t do anything for your cold. He’s going to prescribe an antibiotic; cause health care in the U.S.A. has become a business first.
If you want to get rid of your cold here's how. Put some cucumber, cranberries, broccoli, banana and orange juice, and 1 crushed vitamins pills in a blender and whir. Do this twice a day. It is important to stay warm and covered. Don’t just stay warm, you need to sweat. Don’t immediately take something to reduce your fever., and drink at least 64oz of water per day. That’s how you get rid of a cold. How do I know? I’ve been cold/flu free for 5 years using this method. Also don’t eat junk food, stay away from processed foods and read meats…

You have probably picked up a bug from somewhere, but lets get something straight first, phlegm is a natural lubricant for the lungs, so don't be put off by phlegm, it's manufactured by the body to do a specific job! so when you eject phlegm from your mouth you are getting rid of toxic material too, such as dust and particles that could harm your lungs! So remember that the next time you spit it out. Have a great day.

If flem is green or yellow it indicates an infection. If it is clear, it is generally an allergy or irritation. So if by "white" you mean a creamy white - this would indicate an infection. If by "white" you mean a translucent clear shade, it would not be.

This is normal phlegm. Not sure why you are going to the doc though as there is nothing he can do for a cold.
