I'm sure I've seen this question, or at least questions like this, with 'xians' replaced by 'atheists'.
This way makes much more sense.
Fundies as a rule don't play with a full deck and as a consequence are rather incoherent at the best of times.
It is pointless appealing to LogicReason cos it's faith and "turtles all the way down".
* "A well-known scientist (some say it was the philosopher Bertrand Russell) once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: "What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise."
The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, "What is the tortoise standing on?"
"You're very clever, young man, very clever," said the old lady. "But it's turtles all the way down!" "

I hate to say this, but you are guilty of stereotyping. Honestly, how many Christians have you met, and what have you said to them to get them to react this way. I personally have met a large number of Atheists who can't justify why they don't believe in God or any religion for that matter. Yet I don't compare them to cornered rats. They've been taught that religion is the human mind trying to justify how things were created in an order and not be chance as Atheists believe. I believe that Atheists are trying to make themselves feel that humans are the most powerful beings in this universe, and by eliminating God they can accomplish this. Yet I don't trouble myself with posting questions about it. I feel that every person has the right to do what they feel is appropriate, and if they want to risk going to Hell, that's the risk they take.

Some yes, but not all. I know many Christians who are very secure in who they are because they were raised as Christians since their youth, and they have the clearest consciences, and least regrets of anyone I know. It is usually the false or misguided Christians who appear to be desperate. I would never try to denegrade someone for dedicating their lives to living morally! It is a shame that morality is declining so rapidly in the U.S. and that people who choose to follow the morals outlined within the bible are not only decreasing in number, but are ridiculed and harrassed for such standards. In my opinion many people are desperate, no matter what beliefs they hold. That is why they are always lashing out at others. ;-(

definite. different leaders have additionally tried to disarm the individuals- leaders like Stalin, Hitler, and Mao-Tse Tung. u.s. is maximum easily going to have a fall down analogous to that of the classic Roman Empire. I are anticipating this- that the government will declare martial regulation. they'll attempt to do away with weapons from electorate' properties. there will be resistance like there has never been in the previous. Christians turns into greater progressively greater singled out and attacked for their ideals. Intolerance would be regularly occurring for "infidels." human beings would be pressured into conformity: in any different case. Books would be destroyed. Lives would be manipulated. perhaps civil conflict will come. The device has failed, women and gents. get waiting. You asked for substitute, and now you're gonna get it.

Not really. After all, a rat cornered by it's foes and biting and scratching in panicked desperation realizes it's in said position.
Some Christians (emphasis on some, others are rather bright) aren't aware of any such thing. In fact... they have no doubt in their minds as to being correct.
I was in a yahoo chat room the other day in Christian chat, and made a slightly controversial statement... not even that bad. And someone ignored me. I wasn't upset, but amused... s/he absolutely refused to even take a chance of reading something that didn't 100% align with his/her belief. I found myself wondering, "If that's the case, why are you even online at all...?"

Oh boy! Judgement again about someone else's religion
Why are you so angry and upset? Do you know something none of us know, when you say "the downfall of your religion". You choice of words, rat cornered, biting etc. shows that your mind is in turmoil, and you are very befuddled

CAN LOGIC AND REASON HEAL A BROKEN HEART!?!?!
CAN IT STOP A BROKEN DOWN MAN FROM KILLING YOU OUT OF ANGUISH!?!?!
CAN IT RELIEVE THE TRAUMA OF A GIRL WHO HAS JUST BEEN HORRIBLY VIOLATED!?!?!?!
P.S.
I've been reading some of your questions and visited your blog. It's Atheists like you that make me SICK!!! You wanna know who you remind me of? You remind me of those Imperial bastards from Star Wars!
Darth Vader: Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
Admiral Motti: Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes. Or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebels' hidden fort— [Motti grasps his throat as if he is being choked]
Darth Vader: I find your lack of faith disturbing.

So Christians are rats now. How nice...I wouldn't call an athiest a name like that..I would let them alone to believe or not believe in whatever they choose..I only tell people what happened to me...
Logic and reason can sometimes go out the door when it comes face to face with the spiritual realm.

Religion originated from men and women in search of God. They read the word of God and due to the fact that they were not lead by the spirit. They pressed on things written in the pages to satisfy themselves. Confused and tormented by their needs. So now religion lashes out at the chosen people of God. Offering their reasoning for no God at all or that here is one that was only invented in mans minds. Who is your foe? Your flesh, you are your own foe and worse enemy. You do not know what Chrisitanity is, God directed by his spirit.

Such a cruel comparison. You haven't seen all of us Christians and your question doesn't even come close to describing the wonderful, caring Christians that I know. Are you sure your viewing Christians ? Our Religion is not a downfall. It is excelling and Christians are high in number. You are so wrong. Don't judge until you really know.
