No, those are the Hard drive sizes. The 80 Gb holds more savegames and such.

the 60 gig is able to play more of your ps1 and 2 games compare to the 80 gig. the 80 gig has 20 more gig of space and come with motorstorm. Remember if your thinking about buying a ps3 get you a 60 gig because if your own a ps2 then you should get the 60 because it play alot more games than the 80 gig.,....you can go to the ps3 website and check which game will work and for which console.....get the 60 gig

Two main differences. The 80 gb uses software emulation for backward compatibility while the 60 gb uses hardware for backward compatibility. The other difference is the 20 gb.

60GB and 20GB has an Emotion chip for PS2 games (it's a PS2's CPU). 80GB doesn't. As a result - on 20GB and 60GB you can play more than 90% of old games, on 80GB you can play around 80% of them.
