Not just adam, the dragonflies were big, the sharks were big, the wombats were big, and even the lizards were big, this is in Genesis and it was part of the antedeluvian world
of course it regurlarly turns up as fossils
Adam was not a being of Light, he was not an angel, the sons of gods were angels, adam was a man, he had a perfect body, with no disease or genetic mutations.
After the fasll and the flood, thats when severe mutations begin, Adam was a man, he was not a son of God but one of his creations made in his own image
The sons of God are the angels, according to the old testament

This is a very long story that I will condense.
Before the fall, Adam (PBUH) was a being of light.
It was only after the fall that Adam (PBUH) and Eve acquired physical bodies.
This diminished their physical appearance, to the approximate size of humans, as we appear today.
Adam (PBUH) and Eve by the way had many sets of twins before taking physical form, thus the spread of life around planet earth. Just thought I would add that for your benefit!

Believe it or Not but it is true read your bible it's also in the Quran and in Sumerian , Babylonian, Egyptian, Aboriginal and Mayan ancient text. They were known as the Nephilim or what you religious folk call "God /Allah" we are all made in God/ Allah's Image. In 1885 all extraterrestrial references were removed from the the bible. A lot of these extraterrestrial references still do remain in the bible. The Nephilim are mentioned several times and known as God/ Allah also as giants in the bible.

I'm not Muslim, but I believe that about as much as I believe that Adam lived to be 930 years old.

That sounds like fantasy. While, the Bible says Adam and many others lived 800 years or more, it makes no reference that they were taller or at least as tall than Niphilim giants (half human / half angel).
