In other words, which religion takes the biggest beating? It seems that Christian responses almost always get a massive amount of thumbs-down.

This is just asking for your opinion. I'm not proclaiming any religion to be right or wrong. They're all right at times, and they're all terribly wrong at times.

David V - Good point! I think a lot of people give the old thumbs down to Islamic answers because of political reasons (US vs Iraq), and not so much the religion.

I'm inclined to go with Islam. People are quite prejudiced against that religion here. Whenever someone asks a question related to Islam, i.e. how to get through Ramadan, they get reported, thumbs down, or get labeled as a terrorist.

I was about to leave this site today after reading one too many, "I got if all figured out and everyone else is wrong!" posts. I'm glad I bumped into your question and ideas. I think this section brings out the extremists and their fiery keyboards. Most are not looking to learn, or to share ideas, or to respectfully bring others to what they view as "Truth". Instead, wild and aggressive arguments are made either in support of faith (or a particular belief system) or against faith. I, like you, have found that the overwhelming majority of people I know of faith, as well as the overwhelming majority of atheists I am lucky to call friends, do not communicate like this. I also find myself, like most people, seeing a lot of grey in the debate. Yes, Christianity has led to wars and ignorance. It has also inspired nuns to care for AIDS patients and Martin Luther King Jr. and others to sacrifice their lives for love. And yes, non-belief can lead to putting your faith in temporary things. But I would hate to live in a world in which non-believers were not present to challenge those high and mighty Bible thumpers. Yes, no one should be judged unfairly. This section does NOT generally represent how most people behave and believe. Keep believing the way you do. Peace.

Long term unpopular would be Muslims, Catholics and Jews.
Short term would be the fundies they are so wild eyed they give me the impression they actually foam at the mouth when they get their sweaty little hands on a keyboard.
But they are quickly forgotten because they seem so stunned.
The other religions however make their mark on the world and have unfortunately taken their corners when really we are all the same 'many rivers one ocean'

I am a faithful Christian but I always see the people with Christian answers with like 50 thumbs downs. So I would probably say Christianity.

Probably Scientology, and I am one of the culprits who's giving out the thumbs down here.

If we treat denominations of Christianity as separate religions, then the LDS (Mormons). It's usually other varieties of Christian giving the thumbs down there.

I think each one of us will tend to point to our own religion or non-religion. Because we are always most conscious of not being respected. However, I think that it's probably pretty equal among Christians, Islam and atheists. All three get hit by the others. It's silly, really.

well alot(not all) christians get thumbs down because they sometimes they say offensive things to other religions like...the bahai faith for example, christians keep saying its a false religion and its not,its actually the religion thats the most world spread. and the bahai faith is also has only been here for aboyt 165 years compared to christianity which has been here for over 2,000 years.

Just Like the days of Jesus and the Romans when they fed Christians to the lions things haven't changed that much.

You refer to responses, which changes your question.

Watch the religions attack back and forth and decide for yourself.

There are some very nice Christians (batgirl comes to mind) and Muslims who come here, as well as other faiths.

I only have problems with hateful extremists, like the boy who was gay bashing under the guise of attacking the non-believers.

If it's by ratio of thumbs up to thumbs down, I would say Islam.

Islam-based responses ALWAYS get thumbs down, even when they seem to be pretty genuine and thoughtful answers.
