Personal experience. He answers my prayers.
The existence or non-existence of God cannot be proved or disproved scientifically. At best we can cite certain scientific laws and theories (big bang, second law of thermodynamics, DNA etc.), which indicate the existence of God. There can be no scientific proof, simply because God is not physical or material. He is spiritual and infinite.
But if we broaden our notion of science to include knowledge of things that we get from observing their effects on other things, then God can be known from science.
It is a doctrine of the Church that faith does not come to us through reason alone, but by the grace of God. If a person opposes even the possibility of God's existence, then any arguments or evidence can be rationalized away.
I believe in a personal God from personal experience. It is like faith, hope and love. We know they are true but we cannot prove them concretely. It is the same thing with God. I feel his presence in the situations and circumstances I find myself in. That's how God communicates to me. I also know God loves me through the blessings (in the form of opportunities) he gives me. That's how I know God exists. I don’t need any concrete proof.
Open you heart, mind, and soul to God’s grace and you too will find Him.

Listen to your step-father. There are many reasons:
The universe is infinitely complex. Every time a discovery is made about the structure of matter, new particles are found and new theories are developed to explain their behavior. This process has been, and will be, repeated forever. How could this be the result of chance?
Moreover, as smart as man has become and as vast the reservoir of knowledge, we still have trouble accomplishing anything that could approach the magnificence of any created being, much less a planet.
There are also things within me that cause me to wonder and which are inexplicable. Where does the conscience come from and why do so many people accept certain conduct as "normal?"
Read Romans 1:18-20. The proof is all around and within you.
This conclusion continues to be confirmed as I walk through life with God as a Christian. My faith becomes more sure each day.

Your step-father is correct. Everything about how this all began needs faith. But also, I'd rather base my belief on something a little more structured than a chance 'Big Bang'. Also according to the Big Bang, everything shouldn't be structured. You don't get structure from an unstructured Bang or explosion. With all the Scientific laws we have, we know there is a lot of structure. Which couldn't have come from something so not structured. The only other explaination is that Someone made all this. That sounds so much more reasonable.
There have been accounts of people saying they saw Jesus, who is God. And from the earliest times of humans, the beginning of the Bible, there have been accounts of people saying they actually talked to God. Not just in the Bible but on other scrolls too.

Don't believe the scientists. They can't prove anything, and when they do, something is always wrong with their theory. So many miracles are preformed every day. Seriously, is it even possible to believe that you were formed from an explosion? Look at the world, it is so complex and beautiful. When something explodes, why don't people just pop out of the rubble? Just watch a sunrise. How could that have come out of the explosion? God is amazing and so graceful in all he does. Anyone that tells you He is not real, they are sick. The Bible has answers to life's troubling questions. I have just recently started attending church. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. That was the most important decision that i will ever make. He helps me through life's troubles. He loves His children so, so much. I can feel His love every day when I wake up. Ever since I have accepted His love, I know that I have a purpose on this Earth, and before I leave this Earth to spend eternity with Him, I am going to find God's will for my life. I would strongly encourage you to begin going to a local church. I hope you chose to accept His beautiful love. If you have any questions, you can contact me through my profile. God bless!!

This is an age historic query that we would possibly or would possibly under no circumstances realize even after dying we would possibly under no circumstances realize. According to technological know-how, and Athiests, He does now not exist. According to devout varieties and persons with religion, He does exist. According to Agnostics, He would possibly or won't exist. But now again to the establishing, if He does exist, might be someday He will exhibit himself or permit Himself identified to the persons, or within the Afterlife, because the Doctrine states, if you're well then you're going to be allowed in Heaven whilst God lives. Although it is also feasible that there is probably not an Afterlife however He nonetheless does exist for us to under no circumstances realize in any respect. Then there could also be the notion that He does on no account exist nor does Heaven exist, that is the Athiest notion of what God is. For myself in my view, I do not feel I consider in Heaven, up to I might undoubtedly love to, there's simply not anything in my brain in an effort to permit me consider that Heaven exists and there are Angels with white gowns and peace for the entire relaxation of your publish lifestyles on Earth time. Although, I do consider there's a God, now not the God that's in portraits with the white gown, lengthy beard, halo, and the whole thing else, however a few sort of larger entity that we do not realize approximately and would possibly under no circumstances realize approximately, however I consider there needs to be some thing available in the market that's extra strong than something else, a few entity that almost in all different phrases is...God.

no offensement with your father and brother, but i was kinda sad.
Actually, all of the above answers were right. In addition with their answers, first, you'll see GOD in every person you meet (cause HE made us through HIS appearance), without HIM nothing, as in nothing will really exist in this world. That's true that neither you and i or them have seen GOD, but it's all written in the BIBLE.... i am not that bible reader, but i do believe in the bible, the words of GOD. God asked us to have FAITH in HIM, HOPE, and LOVE. The existence of GOD is not just in the bible only, it should be in our heart also, in our body and mind. You don't have to be confused, if your father and brother is a theist, ( and i think you can't change them,) then PRAY for them.. and i know that GOD will touch their heart and i'm pretty sure that GOD will make a miracle and you'll see that someday they gonna believe in GOD already, just have a little patience i know GOD will answer you. Just always remember that GOD is our creator, our saviour, our redeemer, the KING of all KINGS and a TRUE GOD. Always put GOD first in everything you do. And i'll help you pray for your father and mother, i promise. God bless...:)

I dont know that God exists or that God does not exists.
Using logic and what I see around me, I have very strong
doubts about the existence of a god as described in the bible or coran. But I have no direct evidence for its existence or non-existence.
The evidence, if there is a god, is more for a crazy lunatic violent maniac, or some deity that does not give a **** about humans.
On the other hand, there is faith. People who believe in some old fairy tales, and have invested lots of time and energy in them, are going to tell you all about this great god they believe in. They are not going to tell you maybe it was all a waste of time and they look silly spending their time praying and thinking of a non-existent deity.
No...
it`s called faith -
or delusion ?

Well OK, here's real proof:
In the BIBLE Jesus says that these are the "evidences" that will accompany those who believe;
1: Healing when they put their hands on somebody
2; Tongues, different languages
3; The casting out of demons from people in His name.
I, personally seen all of those things happen very much so, and have one of them, tongues, which always reminds me about the existence of God. I believe not just to "believe" not just with faith, but with facts, especially when you see somebody who proclaims the things of God heal somebody of a deadly disease using nothing but the name of "Jesus!" Someone like Benny Hinn. But those are just some of the Gifts that those who love Him obtain. There are many more which are very, very clear, including visions.
Now why did I capitalize the "Bible"? Because all these things are written in the bible to begin with. That means if they are true, then the whole bible is true! Then God is real! Then even Jesus Christ whom God sent is real!

Proof that God exist.
When you look at a building, how do you know there was a builder? You haven't seen the builder, or heard him or touched him. But, you know there is a builder because the building is proof that there was a builder. You don't need faith, just eyes that can see and a brain that works.
What about a painting? How do you know there was a painter? Well, the painting is proof that there was a painter. You couldn't ask for better proof that a painter exist. It doesn't take faith, just eyes that can see and a brain that works.
When you look at creation, how do we know there was a creator? Well, creation is proof enough that a creator exist. You couldn't ask for better proof of a creator than the creation itself. It doesn't take faith, just eyes that can see and a brain that works.

Not to be mean, but your brother and father are wrong. God exists, and we know that by faith. Unlike the scientists who have to SEE something to believe that it's real, we already know that God is real. There's a ton of proof!!! Look up Kent Hovind on the internet; he's an awesome creation scientist/pastor and he tells it like it us. God bless :-)

Jesus said it like this: "If you want to know if my teachings are from God, or just those of a mere man, then OBEY THESE COMMANDS, and you shall know." The Sermon on the Mount is found in Matthew chapter 5, 6, & 7.
Also, Jesus said "If you CONTINUE in my Word, then you shall know the Truth, and then the Truth shall set you free."
It seems fairly fail-proof that if you start obeying Jesus then either God WILL reveal Himself to you, or NOTHING will happen.
Strangely enough, many people who claim there is no God have NEVER bothered taking this simple "litmus" test.
