Doubt, for me, is a wonderful thing. I'm an atheist and a journalist, and doubt is what keeps me searching for a better explanation, of humanity, of our motives, of the universe, of everything. I guard against the contentment of feeling like I have the "ultimate" explanation of any damn thing at all, because it's when people start being terribly certain of things that other people start dying. If you maintain the capacity for doubt, you maintain the ability to accept many points of view, and that, for me, is at the core of my being. So much so that when I felt the need to have my first and only tattoo, I chose to have it in the shape of a question-mark, to remind me to keep questioning everything or doubting everything, especially my own sense of self-righteousness.

Very little, actually. My husband, now he's the doubter. In general men tend to doubt and question things more than women do. Oh I apologize to anyone if my use of generalization offends you.
Occasionally I will worry about something, but I think worry is very different from doubt.
For example, at the moment I'm unemployed. I have no doubt that God has a job and a place for me. I do worry sometimes though, that His timing and my timing are not the same.
Christian here, if you didn't know already.

I can't say what my faith is because I don't have one, however doubting that there is an existence of a higher being from day to day clears many questions about why, and helps me control anger. What I mean by this is if I just accept that I am on my own then there is no higher being to blame for misfortune, only myself or other people. I am more likely to take responsibility for my self by seeing things more realistically, instead of praying to a being that never answers, or believing bad things happen because I am being tested (anger). In essence it prevents a lot of confusion, which in the long run leads to mental illness. ;-)

Doubt keeps me grounded and solid in my lack of beliefs. But I do believe that doubt without curiosity is dead.

Atheist here, doubt in the skeptical sense serves me very well. I've never fallen for an email hoax, no matter how well intentioned the sender/friend was.
