I'm a Christian and I've been told that I shouldn't celebrate Halloween. My church always ends up have this fall festival or something of that nature. They play games, bob for apples, and give all the kids candy. Basically, I feel like they are still celebrating it but they aren't just dressing up. I actually like Halloween maybe it's just because my birthday is in October and I've always wanted to have a costume party. Halloween is the only holiday that gives you a reason to dress up and have fun. I don't think that people should dress up in demonic costumes like devils and witches. It's kind of like they are celebrating the devil.I've never actually heard a kid say give me a treat or I will trick so you I don't know what to say about that one.

I don't really feel like it's a big deal. I know about the history but, the meaning of Halloween has changed. Now it is just a fun holiday where you dress up and eat candy. But, I have never been comfortable about people dressing up as the devil, that's not right. I agree with "Silver"

that's a private determination, particularly considering that many are not even attentive to the roots. If one would not see it as incorrect, then I say, have fun it! God has given us the liberty to achieve this. yet while it relatively is bothering your experience of right and incorrect, then it may be sinful to do it besides. See Romans 14 and one million Corinthians 8. 4 issues to undergo in strategies: one million) we've freedom in Christ. 2) one and all desires to be totally confident in his very own strategies, with the intention to no longer sin against his very own experience of right and incorrect. otherwise, play it secure. 3) we ought to pay interest to Christians who may be stumbled via excersing a definite freedom. 4) do no longer decide your brother for making a diverse determination than you. that's acceptable to different holiday journeys and various subjects that could doubtlessly reason branch in the physique of Christ. my own own determination: i know what Halloween stands for and that i hit upon it detestable. i decide directly to no longer have fun it yet i do no longer decide people who're the two uninformed or who're counseled and nevertheless waiting to relish a sparkling experience of right and incorrect.

I'm a Christian, and I don't see a problem with dressing up in funny or scary costumes, carving a pumpkin, watching scary movies, and passing out candy to the cute kids. Many of our churches have Halloween parties.

It's not like we're worshipping Satan or beheading a chicken to consume its blood or something.

If a Christian is going to take part in Halloween, their attitude, dress, and most importantly, their behavior should still reflect a redeemed life

Is there anything evil about a Christian dressing up as a princess or cowboy and going around the block asking for candy? No, there is not. Are there things about Halloween that are anti-Christian and should be avoided? Absolutely

We don't have Halloween much here in Australia, but even so I don't feel comfortable about it. AFAIK it's the day before All Saints Day hence its name "Hallowed Eve". The idea is that the day before God's followers triumph, the evil one's followers have their day and reign for a short time. Its origin is therefore based on doing evil while you can get away with it.

However, I can also see the other point of view. You don't have to *make* it evil, you can just say that's its kids dressing up and having a bit of fun and get a few lollies out of it.

If witches are "dark forces of evil", then this particular witch failed to get the memo.

Here's a different take on the history and customs of Halloween:

As a Christian I do not believe in celebrating all hallows eve. A night to worship satan and his fallen angels. I will be really glad when the halloween season is over.

I believe Christians should not celebrate that pagan holiday. It is the day for the devil. We need to be cautious we don't allow the devil to take a hold of our kids on that day.
