Also, if you have any beliefs, who created this comprehensive, globally, complex belief system?
Refer back to the question, I will be responding to you.

The Instigator: You said, " Atheism is simply the default philosophical stance."
Whether it is default or not, gives no meaning to your claim that believing in God is a delusion. Also, you state two of your beliefs as facts. You state your belief that atheism is the default philosphical stance. I say it isn't, prove me wrong? Also, you state as fact that a belief in God is a delusion. Prove to me that a belief in a lack of belief in God is not a delusion?

I doesn't explain why. Which is what I've asked. That's like me asking you why 2+2=4 and you saying the answer is 4. You haven't explained to me why the answer is 4.

weemary: You interestingly state, "I don't believe in any belief."
and you state,
"Nor do I believe in complete lack of belief."
When you say you don't belief in any belief, you are expressing your belief that you don't believe in any belief. Which then contradicts the very next thing you say. Explain this to me.

Tetris: You asked, "Why believe in something that bears no real answer to anything other than hope (which in itself is pretty wishywashy)?"
The same can be said for atheism. If you don't believe in a Creator, than you must provide evidence to why you believe the opposite default position of belief, which is that you'd have to believe that no creator exists. On what basis, do you believe that no creator exists? You must provide evidence of your position of belief. Otherwise, you blindly believe in there is no Creator. Obviously you can't prove that a creator doesn't exist. Therefore proof is not required for your position, only evidence. So where is the evidence of your position?

Also Paul, I've just noticed, simply putting quotations around my quote, doesn't mean you aren't committing plagerism by not citing who actually quoted it.

Do you understand that this question makes no sense?
You need to use words more carefully - you're just throwing around terms without thinking about what you mean to say.

And again, Atheism is only a disbelief in God(s). It is not a belief system, philosophy, or epistemology.
As for the reason behind the disbelief: no evidence.
-----------------------------
edit –
The existence of God(s) is not a testable hypothesis because: (1) argument by objective, empirical evidence (science) does not permit supernatural, mystical, or any kind of other-worldly explanation of real-world phenomena; and (2) if there were evidence for a God, that evidence would remove God from the supernatural and place it in the natural world.
Moreover, if it were theoretically (so to speak) possible to objectively test ‘evidence’ for or against a God, the burden of proof would be on the believers. The Null Hypothesis would be that there is a “zero God-effect” on the real world. That is to say, the world is what it is no matter what the God-thing might do.
Continuing our imaginary and impossible hypothesis test, there are two possible solutions: (1) we can reject the Null Hypothesis, or we can (2) fail to reject the Null Hypothesis (note that there is no such thing as ‘accepting’ or ‘passing’ a hypothesis). So, that puts believers in the position of trying to ‘reject’ the null hypothesis. Moreover, even if they could reject the hypothesis, it still would not prove that they are right and that God exists.
And although we may not understand the physics of supernatural worlds, we understand the physics of our universe fairly well; particularly when it comes to things like friction, inertia, and Newton’s Third Law (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). This tells us that—in our world, anyway—it is not possible for a thing or being to, simultaneously, (a) possess the ability to physically interact in our world and (b) move through our world in a ghostly or spirit-like manner.
This means, for example, that it is not possible to be able to (a) open a door and (b) pass through a door like a ghost in a movie. So, if there were a God (or whatever) that physically interacted with our world, it would leave a trail of evidence that would allow us to hunt it down and kick the snot out of it because—if it can reach out and touch us; then we can reach out and touch it also.

“out logic”? – you do know that ‘logic’ is a noun, right? You never took that whole “education thing” seriously, huh?
And yet, you arrogantly insult the intelligence of others. Don’t you people have a saying, “pride goeth before a fall”? And then Christians wonder why people think they are stupid. — Go figure, huh?

"Atheists, let's debate the question: Why believe in complete lack of belief in God?"
What? That doesn't even make sense.
"Also, if you have any beliefs, who created this comprehensive, globally, complex belief system?"
Huh??!!
"Whether it is default or not, gives no meaning to your claim that believing in God is a delusion."
Um, I don't think he was answering the question you think he was answering. "What exactly is atheism" and "why is Christianity bullshit" are two different things.
"You state your belief that atheism is the default philosphical stance. I say it isn't, prove me wrong?"
Ok: Christian minus Christianity equals what? What DO you think is the default when people reject religion?
"Prove to me that a belief in a lack of belief in God is not a delusion?"
You CAN lack belief, but belief in a lack of belief is too awkwardly worded to make any sense.
"You said, " Do you understand this question makes no sense? Do you understand that in order to make this claim, you'd have to back it up with evidence that supports your claim?"
No, you just need to have a vague understanding on English syntax and/or rudamentary logic.
"When you say you don't belief in any belief, you are expressing your belief that you don't believe in any belief. Which then contradicts the very next thing you say. Explain this to me."

Number 3, it follows number2, that all other ideas based on any sky fairy do not have any proof.
Number 4, there is ample proof that mankind made up all their gods because of their fear of the dark and the unknown.
Number 5, study science, you will find out a lot about the world and what real people are doing to find out more.

So you're saying that God created lack of proof of himself? Great Idea!
edit:
Why believe in something that bears no real answer to anything other than hope (which in itself is pretty wishywashy)?
edit: Steady state theory suggests that the universe has always been expanding, and thus removing any need for a moment of creation. The problem people have with this is that us as humans do not understand the concept of infinity so we place absolutes in it's place (i.e. God).

I'd like to debate with you.
Anyways, because there is an amount of things only limited by one's imagination that once can claim exists, it is the burden of the believer to provide proof for what they believe in. No Theist has ever provided proof of their god.
My belief system comes from my rationality and knowledge.

I have no belief in god. That's just who and how I am. Why believe my "lack of belief?" Why believe your belief of god? My beliefs are made from my life. what I have witnessed lived and felt. What I learned from my parents and the people around me.
What do you mean how can I have beliefs? Everybody has beliefs of some kind. Are you really that slow. You sound like you are trying to be smart, but you are missing the mark.
Everybody creates their own beliefs according to their life and what feels true to them.

Just like before, feel free to debate with me. I don't watch TV and sure as heck ain't going out tonight. Sorry, Pennsylvania talk.... hehehe...
I do not believe in the Abrahamic God. He's no more likely to exist than any of the 3,500 other known gods around the world. I do believe in the existence of angels and archangels, but they are not servants to any particular god. They are just spirits and sentient manifestations of the 'good side' of our universe.

Since you addressed atheists, I'd say that YOU believe atheists exist as well, so... what's your question?
My belief system is infinitely complex. It goes like this:
1. Don't believe in things until they are proven to exist.

I don't believe in God because (or I believe in complete lack of belief in God, two similar concepts, with the same outcome, as it were) because there is no evidence for it. If there is a concept with not one shred of evidence for it, I would not believe that it is true/existed. For example I do not believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster because there is no proof for it. Similarly I do not believe in God because there is no evidence for it/him/her/whatever.
