We have always saved costumes so Usually we have something we can throw together. Last year my daughter was Snow white. My sister had an old Wicked stepqueen costume so I wore that and my husband threw on a red cape we had from a vampire costume and was her prince. This year she is going to be herminone from harry potter and since her parents are muggles we are just going to be dressed normally. I think its up to the parents and what things you have lieing around the house. Unless you are going to a costume party I wouldnt spend the money.

My daughter is going to be a princess (she's 2 1/2 years old). I want to be a queen but don't want to spend the money on a costume, so I might be a hobo or something that I already have.

My husband mentioned that I should be Superwoman.

My kids are going as other DC comics characters (Batman, and Robin -- from Teen Titans, not from Batman).

I figure if I have to do Superwoman, he'll need to do some other DC character, and we'll just all go trick-or-treating as nerds. LOL

Jon Jon's -- PLEASE post pictures of that!!! LOL

My mom made me a medieval princess costume a couple years ago and I love it so much I wear it every year.
My daughter got a princess dress too with the same color scheme. (Burgundy, gold and white).
