The Great Flood killed and fossilized every lifeform that didn't make it on the boat. So why are there no uniforn, satyr and giant fossils?

"Well some lifeforms don't always fossilize!"

Yes I agree!

So isn't it hypocritical that creationists say that there's holes in the fossil record when there's the same holes in the fossil in regards to the unicorns, satyrs and giants? There can't be every fossil of every lifeform that ever existed because there's a better chance you'd win the lottery than having something fossilized.

Please don't say that unicorns were mistranslated and it actually means rhinoceroses and satyrs means male goats and still think that DRAGONS were actually DINOSAURS.

This will go way over the head of the creationists.

read the question again. I'll re-word the part you didn't understand for you:

There can't be a fossil for every lifeform that ever existed because it's incredibly rare that a lifeform will fossilize after it's dead.

*snicker* This is one of the strangest defenses of the fossil record I have ever seen!

The point of bringing up the fossil record is because it does not supply any uninterrupted series of transitional forms between phyla or classes or even families of animals or plants ---even though about 90% of the families of all animals are represented in the fossil record! One of the outstanding characteristics of the entire fossil record, is the systematic presence of non-transitioned gaps throughout. Just trees that remain trees, roses remain roses, corn remains corn, and human beings remain human beings. Micro-evolution has not been shown to add up to macro-evolution, no matter in which way or over how long a period the evidence is observed!

I agree with you on evolution, but be careful not to fall into the same trap that creationists do. Just because proof hasn't been *found* doesn't mean proof doesn't *exist*. Evolution can't positively claim that unicorns et al never existed - it can only assert that no scientific proof of unicorns has ever been found. The same problem also applies to creationism and intelligent design - it makes an assumption that cannot be positively proved (ie, that some conscious force deliberately guided the existance of humankind). At least science admits its limitations, and refrains from making claims it can't prove.

It has been proven that fossilization can occur in a very short period of time, even a few hours. Under pressure wood can be turned to coal in as little as four hours. Mammoth elephants found frozen in Siberia still had food in their stomachs. Fossils of fish have been found which were feeding on fish they had just caught. That would not happen if fossilization took millions of years. It takes special conditions to form fossils not millions of years. When the theory of evolution was first introduced the theory estimated 70,000 years. To satisfy their theories it was increased to several hundred thousand years then millions and now billions of years. The fossil record is found on mountain tops and under the ocean. That is not possible over millions of years. The mountains would have eroded and the oceans filled in gradually, washing all the record away and burying it under sediment. Fossils are found in every conceivable situation around the world proving that it happened recently and of the same castastrophe. Fish fossils on mountain tops. That only leaves one solution. Abig flood.

I just always thought is to be odd that every single culture has some sort of "dragon" creature in their mythology. But in that time, when these stories started, it isn't like China could just phone Germany and say "hey, look what I just saw".

My hypothesis (though probably totally wrong, lol), is that there were dragons and they were hunted down or became extincted, but because they were made of mostly cartilage (so they could fly), and since cartilage decomposes, that is why there are no fossils.....

Ha ha, put me down for the Noble Peace Prize, lol

No. not knowing does NOT make a hypocrite. Like you said something NOT written. Like the great flood fossilizing lifeforms. No, your conclusion cannot disprove,,,,nor CONVINCE????????????

What you are trying to say is that since no fossils have been found that they cannot have existed? Do you even know what's in your back yard underground much less the world.

Please pick a better argument than that to bad mouth people that believe in God.

Imaginary creatures do not possess the necessary DNA to fossilize.

it only affected the world they knew back then.
also, fossils could of been buried underground for billions of years before someone dug them up.
