I'm currently overseas, bought a car and don't have a license. I plan on putting in in storage and not drive it untill i square away my license situation. Does it matter even though i dont plan on driving it?

It will be in california. can i insure it w/out a license?once again, its going to be in storage untill i get back from iraq.

You do not have to have a driver's license to own or register a vehicle. You only need to have one if you are driving! You can buy the car, and have it titled in your name with no problem. If the car is going to be in storage, you will not need to have tags on it! You may want to put comprehensive insurance on the vehicle, but while it is in storage, you will not need collision or liability insurance (assuming that you do not have the car registered to drive!

absolutely yes. my cousin cannot drive as he is disabled. but he bought a car in his name (registered in his name) but the driver is another person. my cousin has to pay the tax only and car insurance.

you dont have to have a license but you do have to pay your taxes on it before they will put the title in your name
and possibly insurance

you need a license to buy a car so the owners d/l can be put on title and registration
