I have 3 more years left before I get my dental degree in Japan. I would like to obtain dental license in US. How do I do that? Can I just go and take the National Board Exam or I need to go through education in US again.
Also, if I obtain a specialty, let's say orthodoctic specialty in Japan. Will US recognize that specialty or I still need to go through residency again in US. Any information will help! Thank you!

As it currently stands, they are requiring 2 years of additional study at a US dental school. You would need to apply for an International Dental Studies program. This method eliminates the decades old practice of taking and failing a "bench" exam (I don't know anyone who could pass it).
The 2 additional years bring you up to the "American Standards", so that you can take the National Board Exams and State Board or Regional exam.
Good Luck! It's a lot of work!

in case you for a dental college you could oftentimes prepare on the school below an "training umbrella." further you could enter a residency that should advance your training (AGD, specialists, GPR, and so on) that should necessitate national boards, interior of sight boards, and so on.

IN MY GRADUATING CLASS WE HAD SOME FOREIGN DENTISTS WHO ALREADY PRACTICED IN THEIR NATIVE COUNTRIES. HERE IN THE USA THEY HAD TO COMPLETE 5 YEARS OF DENTAL SCHOOL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
