If you want to do good in expectation of a reward, Karma will always dictate that you will never be satisfied. Smug maybe, but never satisfied.

Karma is closely linked to the proverb... what goes around comes around... helping one old lady won't help you pass an exam... however it works like this..
if you want to pass an exam u need to do something that is closely linked to that event...
in this case it is studying.. so while u are devoting ur time to studying in the end u will be rewarded..
using another case.. if u have girlfriends and u dont treat them good... then in the future, one day, u will pay by maybe, having a real bad *** woman who treats u bad and u will be in a position where u wont be able to get rid of her..
jus simple cases i have used here.
Just lead a good life and good shall follow..

Karma would not be immediate and the good deeds you do to earn karma must be done without ulterior motives.
Sorry, but you have to study for the test and mow the neighbor's lawn simply because it is the right thing to do.
You'll thank yourself in your next life.

Karma doesn't work quite like that.
It works on the principle of like attracts like. (Magnets are an exception to this.) You think good, nice thoughts, you start feeling good about yourself. The whole day goes better, you feel less stressed (on average), and that may help you do better on your test.
Honestly, if you want to do good on your test, studying is the best thing to do. Make sure you get plenty of sleep after any study session to get the maximum retention from the session.
It was nice of you to help with the lawn, though, and I am sure your neighbor appreciated it.

Sorry to break it to you, but the only way you're going to ace a test is if you study and know the materials, not rely no some supernatural force to help you because you helped someone else.

Karma means "action". All we can say is that something is happening, never whether it is good or bad. These words cannot be meaningfully applied to Karma.

it's actually the natural law, like when you throw a rock into the water the water splashes, when humans release toxic waste into the environment it creates natural disasters. there are consequences for every action and there's a cost for everything.
