The people who keep posting links to "Why God Doesn't Heal Amputees", The Blasphemy Challenge, and quotes "The God Delusion" on a regular basis ... all to encourage "conversion" to atheism.

Wow, that almost sounds like an actual dictionary definition!

How are you tonight, dearest 'Zilla?

I'm sorry if I offended anyone! My intent wasn't mean-spirited! Just playing along. I apologize if anyone thought I was being unnecessarily offensive.

As an Athiest i be attentive to what you propose. Ask a Evangelical Christian an identical question and you gets an equivalent reaction. they attempt to shove it off or deflect it by way of fact they are in a position to't face the undeniable fact that they too act in an "evangelical" way. i be attentive to I interior the previous have had that strategies-set as an Atheist.

It seems like an oxymoron, but I do understand the meaning and it does have some validity. I've never as a Catholic had any problem with agnostics but virtually every self-described atheist I've met was at least as pushy and aggressive in propounding his views as any raving fundie could possibly be. I wouldn't use the term evangelize. I would use proselytize ( except I can never remember how to spell it!)

It's a guy wearing Birkenstocks and jeans who gets on the TV channel and holds up a copy of Darwin's Origin of the Species, and with sweat on his brow and a quavvvvver in his voice, calls out to the teeming masses, shouting, "You gotta just stop beLIEEEEEEEEEEVING in the BIBLE!!!!! SAY AMEN!!!! My sisters and brothers in logical thought and intellectual KNOWLEDGE!!!!!!! you gotta just SAY NO!! SAY NO WHEN THE MAN COMES UP TO YOU WITH THE BIBLE!!!!! PRAISE BE TO THE NON-RELIGIOUS THOUGHTS THAT SPRING FROM THE HUMAN MIND!!"

And the choir starts singing John Lennon's "Imagine" and "Revolution." EVERYBODY SING!

Hallelujah!

I don't know... it can't be a positive thing. Maybe it's an atheist who pushes their own beliefs on others in an unrelenting fashion... oh, wait...that's exactly what it means. Not a good thing to be...

A really loud, obnoxious, intolerant, and uninformed atheist.

I suppose Dawkins or Hitchens could be characterized as evangelical. They both actively work to sway others towards atheism.

Perhaps a atheist hoping the Rapture comes so they don't have to pay their credit card bills?
