Matthew 12:31, 32 reads:
31 “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come

No, if that were true, we would all probably be in a heap of trouble....a lot of people make vows that can not keep...you just repent and ask for forgiveness and move on. I made a vow once when I was really mad at my DH for something he had done...I vowed I would never sleep with that man again...but there you go..on the 29 of this month, we celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary..It may be a shame but it is not blasphemy...

It is considered an 'abomination'- an easy mistake.

Proverbs 12:22 is an example (best I could find on short notice!)

I'm not sure, but I do know that it says not to swear by a higher name and that you should say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no and to always follow through with what you say.
