CALIFORNIA:
In January '08 I heard that is the time a new law will be passed or something about changing the legal driving age to 18. If this is true that is wrong because if the legal working age is 16 it will be difficult to get to work for some people.

Yes it's true. In fact, most countries will not issue a driver's license if the person is still 16 or below 18. Legal working age in most countries is 18 and not 16 also. As 16yrs are considered to be still in school and not to work legally. I've found answers before that in USA, a 16yrs old can work part time but with limit hours. So it is not called to be legally working, though it can be called as a working student instead. As 16yrs old cannot have a fulltime job, I guess. In our country we don't require a fulltime job applicants to be at 16. He/she must be at 18yrs of age.

Lets hope so.Something needs to be done. People figured out how to get to work long before the car was invented. Very lame excuse to need one. Any how shouldn't a 16 year old still be in school. You have no need for a car.

I hope so. Too many teens are getting killed on the highways. They aren't mature enough to drive.
If it inconveniences you, too bad. It's a lot more of an inconvenience getting killed.
In my city, 3 people will be buried in the next few days. They were cut off by a 17 year old driver who was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. their car rolled over, 3 occupants died. the teen driver was charges with 3 counts of vehicular homicide.
