That is a question I have wondered about too. If God just had one person or lets say if jesus HAD written the new Testament, I would think it would have less credibility than it does now. He would have been seen as a false prophet, touting his own docrines. By relying on those who witnessed the events of his life, Jesus gave credibility to his message.

The credibilty thing also applies to the whole Bible. It is humanly impossible for 44 authors over a period of 1500 years unknown to each other and from vastly different backgrounds and cultures to arrive at 66 books so internally systematic and consistent as the Bible. It would be like 44 men each tossing a stone on a pile over 1500 years and the finished product being a modern hospital. There must have been one Author behind it all.

It wasn't a matter of "need", it was a matter of choice. Our God from the beginning has been an immanent God, a God who dwells with His people in the flesh. The Word of God is not just a bunch of written words on a page, but a Living Word.

Why did God choose to send His one & only Son, the Word made flesh, to take the punishment for the whole world? He's an immanent God who cares for His creation. All of Scripture was inspired by one person, the Holy Spirit & is tied together by One Man, the God-Man, Jesus Christ.

Also, think about it. If it had been written by one sinful human being, it would not be falsafiable (much like Mormon literature). What makes for better testimony in court? One man's witness alone (that can't be proven true or false) or the testimony of tens of men (men who lived at different times in different places no less) whose stories are all collaborated by each other!?

I don't think God "needed" multiple men to do it, I believe that was just what He chose to do...

I think it establishes a history. Sure he could have told one man everything that was going to happen and had him write everything, but I think in the same way we do not learn from just one person in school or throughout life, God used many to tell us these stories and teach us!

This question is awsome because i want to kno the answer too. The people that wrote the bible were so vague and contradictive that you really can just pick and choose and make about 30 religions out of it. which is why we have so many branches from christianity.

The real question is why did God chose only men and not women also??? I mean, are we bound to be considered inferior??? God is such a misogynist!!! He should have hired me to write his stuff, I'm pretty good at writing poetic meaningless things...

different times, different cultures.

also because he wanted to do it this way. he knows what's good or not. just because you or anyone else thinks that it's wrong doesn't make it wrong.

Just because God does not do something doesn't mean that he can't do it, he just didn't want to .

If he had sent one men, then you would ask: 'was God incapable of sending more men?'

Who really can believe just one man, many do not believe Jesus Himself, Christ knew full well how slow we are to believe and He wisely chose several men to defend His words and show how they are the truth.
