The words mazal tov are Hebrew. There are two ways to pronounce them: ma-ZAHL toe-v and MAH-zal t-ah-v.

The first one, ma-zal toe-v, is Hebrew, and literally translates to "good fortune" but actually means "good luck."

The second one, mah-zal tav, is Yiddish--Yiddish is a mixture of Hebrew and German so the words mean basically the same thing, just a different pronounciation. In English it is spelled mazal tov and in Hebrew it is spelled מזל טוב

Mazeltov is the usual spelling. It is Russian, and used the Cyrillic alphabet originally, so spellings may vary in Roman letters.

Just to add a bit of history--the phrase "mazal tov" **originally** meant "good constellation" or "good star", but is always taken to mean "good luck" or a variant thereof.
