I just met this girl, and we seemed to really click. I'm just bad at getting things started when it comes to friends. (I'm not lez, I have a boyfriend, just not good at the whole social scene). Out of your experience, what would you consider the first "hang out" session to be? I'm 27(yea, that's sad, I have no social skills at 27). I don't beleive getting drunk is proper etiquett when you first meet someone, and I don't beleive inviting them to your home, our their home is proper either. What do you suggest I should do for entertainment? (In case you're wondering, I've suffered from social anxeity for years, and I'm trying to fight it), so any suggestions you have please let me know. Thanks! I really need a girls night out!

Simple. Start simple, just go for a beverage, coffee tea, juice. Or go to the breakwater in your area if u live near the ocean. Or to a park with a lunch u pick up from Subway or something. Easy n lite. Just be yourself n don't even entertain the thoughts of your said social skills. Have fun! PS: If yoou want a night out, go to a nice lounge for a drink. If you really want to get down go to a ladies night. Go to the pool for a hot tub n a swim or a bike ride, go roller blading. If either of you have a dog, take the dog for a walk. Or go shopping together at that great week end sale!

If you have other friends as well, invite her out for lunch or dinner. By having others there, conversation is easier on you.

If you don't, just invite her out for a coffee at the local cafe - that way you're not trapped for ages.

If all else fails ... a movie. You show her that you're interested in friendship by inviting her out but only have to talk a little before/after the film.

Does she have a boyfriend too? If so, invite the two of them over for a couples game night. It's a lot of fun and keeps you on your home turf without feeling awkward. Otherwise, a girls afternoon of shopping and lunch is always a good way of getting to know someone.

Hi,
let her know what u really love doing, that's how friendship should be built. Then she will let u know what she likes doing. If both of yu really click like u said, let her know how u feel about social anxeity, that's if u trust her. What is that thing you enjoy doing the most that u consider fun? It could be hiking, swimming, mountain climbing, sight seeing, picnics or watever that interests u. Just let her into it, then the next outing should be her ideas.

Have fun.

Go to the movies, see a comedy and have a laugh together. Go out to lunch and have a couple of drinks, you'll relax (you don't have to get pissed just have a couple). Just don't think about it too much and don't go with any expectations. Have a whatever attitude. If you continue to click then good, if she turns out to be a wacko then you live and learn.

just do something casual. go eat lunch at a cool restaurant, watch a movie, or do something you usually wouldn't do- like go bowling or ice skating- you might find that lame, but stop worrying so damn much. it's easy to tell if someone's trying to hard, and truth be told- she's probably a bit nervous too. whatever happens, happens.
