Or the bony fish or any of the sea creatures?
I asked a similar question yesterday. No creationists answered. The truth is that they can't explain all the fossils. Especially fossils of sea life.

I am not a creationist, but even for a true creationist, this question is not that dang hard.
Extinctions have happened in the past, often because of climatic change. To the creationist, fossils are not a record of evolution, but of extinction.
After the flood, the habitats and microclimates of the oceans could easily have changed enough to make it tough for the pelagic reptiles (most were not dinos) to survive. It might have been something as simple as loss of nesting grounds.
Many sea turtles have to return to the same beach to lay eggs, many fish, like salmon, have to go back to the same creek. Perhaps the nesting grounds of the extinct sea animals went away. Maybe the prey species died out, or other predators took over the niche.
It is the same thing we would say today about groups of animals going extinct, and is not really a challenge to the creationist theorys.
You'll have to do better!

There are only a few species of ancient animals found that we classify as "dinosaurs", yet the amount of fish that actually died out in comparison to the aquatic dinosaurs that did is equal in ratio. Knowing this we can come to the conclusion that the amount of fish created was enormous in comparison to the number of aquatic dinosaurs. An estimated 99% of all living things created have become extinct since the creation. So to put it in perspective -- say 10,000,000 diffrent types of fish were created and 10,000 aquatic dinosaurs. If 99% of all of them die out, that leaves 100,000 fish and 100 aquatic dinosaurs. -- Even in this day and age and at a faster rate, species of animals and plants become extinct every year. It wasn't necissarly the flood that killed them, but a matter of time.

I think you are missing the point of the story. This scripture is more SOCIAL than scientific.
I believe that God created the universe and so on but I do not believe that means that things didn't evolve.
I am a muslim so unlike Christians I don't have a 6,000 year timeline during which all of this was supposed to have happened.
I believe that Islam CALLS FOR SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY especially due to certain passages that indicate that a. we should seek knowledge no matter how far B. ayats in th Qu'ran that say that all living things are made from water
C. because of course God wasn't going to explain quantum physics to a bunch of people who had never heard of algebra or flushing toilets.
Another thing to keep in mind is that in the story of Noah God's intent was to eliminate HUMANITY due to their sinfulness not to bring about the extinction of species.
This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that Noah was ordered to SAVE animals in pairs of every kind.
One more thing to keep in mind is that this is a STORY told to illustrate a point NOT to explain the disappearance of certain animals.
As a muslim I have NIO PROBLEM believing that evolution or some other force caused their extinction although I must admit I don't know what the scientific explanation is.

Why don't you ask Utnapishti, he and his seem to have survived the flood just fine and unlike the gutless Noah in the genesis account tried his damnedest to convince the gods to not flood the region and kill everyone.(notice I didn't say earth)
Noah is told build a boat, so Noah builds a boat, Noah is told " I am going to kill everyone in the world", so Noah says OK, no "hey I think this is a bad idea" no argument nothing.

Interesting question, but of course the answer is so obvious. The flood didn't happen,so it doesn't matter,we will be better served to figure out the real reasons why some species died out while others didn't.

I must see what they say. On the other hand, maybe I do not want to see what silly excuses are concocted for this logical objection to an obvious fantasy copied from an older Sumerian tale about Utnapishtim.

In what I believe, science and religion are not mutually exclusive.
Science is simply finding out how God did it all. He didn't just sneeze and it was.
In return, how did life spontaneously spring from lifeless matter?
