Ok, my local Mt. Trashmore is called Mt. Brighton. Check out the website below to check it out. Anyways, this year, they are charging $450 for a season pass. That's more expensive than one in colorado! Is it too much? I think it is. Help is much appreciated.

Wow, I'm not sure what you guys are talking about thinking 300 or 400 bucks for a season pass is expensive.

Many resorts out West are 700, 800,or even much more for a pass (at regular prices). Check out these prices at Aspen and Snowbird:

https://www.snowbird.com/season_tickets/index.php

Student passes and seniors are sometimes 300 or 400, and sometimes if you buy very early in advance (like summer or early fall), they'll discount it to 300 or 400.

I skied at Big Mtn, Montana one winter and paid 700.

But 300 or 400? Those are great prices considering day tickets many places are sometimes 40 or 50 bucks; you'd only have to ski 7 or 8 times to get your money's worth at those prices.

Enjoy those prices while you pay them. In fact, I think that's a great deal!

1. If you don't like your "mountain", then don't ski there.

2. Running a ski area is incredibly expensive. It doesn't matter how small and crappy the place is. They still gotta get money to pay for land, taxes, improvements, insurance, employees, the list goes on and on. If they didn't charge enough, then they would go out of business, and you wouldn't be skiing at all.

3. That is about right for a student pass. If that ISN'T a student pass, it is a real steal.

Is it a restricted pass? Can you ski on the pass during Christmas and New Years and other holidays? Can you pay for the ticket in less then 10 days skiing if you paid the regular price for skiing? example: 10 days skiing at $45.00 per day (regular everyday price)= $450.00. Then it is a good deal.
At Mammoth We pay about $500 for a pass. It takes 8 days to pay for itself and then you are skiing FREE!!! the rest of the season!!! If there is a bad weather day who cares! You are not throwing your daily lift ticket out the window or pushing yourself to ski in inclimate and dangerous weather.

You people PAY to ski? Oh Jeeze...that cracks me up!

If you live close enough to a ski hill to contemplate a season pass, you are close enough to work there too. Even part-timers who work one day a week usually get free season passes where they work. That's the whole point of taking a crappy job a mountain. I have a full-time job and I'm still going to go work at my local hill one day a week just for the pass.
