i need some advice i love my mom so much but lately and gradually i have noticed her becoming more moody and snappy. one minute she is happy the next very angry and horrible mood swings. for example yesterday we went food shopping for a few bits. when we got back she discovered that the girl who served us had forgot to put a loaf of bread in the bag. she got really angry was banging stuff shouting and just couldnt see how over the top she was being she is only 51. one minute happy the next angry never seems to be able to smile an see the lighter side of life. im worried about her and just want to no what could be causing this i dont think its depression and i dont think its the change as she has had a hysterectomy a few years ago. any advice or help would be welcome thanx in advance.

It definitely sounds like the menopause to me too. When a person has a hysterectomy they dont normall y remove the ovaries unless they are diseased as the hormones they produce (oestogen) help protect against illnesses later in life. Around age 50 the ovaries cease to produce the hormones and this can result in mood swings as well as other physical syptoms.
Your mum should see her doctor to see if there is any treatment to alleviate these problens and see if hormone replaacement therapy is suitable or not.

Be there for her and check out and get her to speak to her moms and dads... By her speaking to them offers her extra choices on wether or now not she wishes to maintain it and even adoption she has extra choices now than she is going to later. Her moms and dads will uncover out ultimately simply make certain it is not to past due. And be a well pal and check out and aid/consultant her to make the offerings she wishes and now not what any person "wishes" her to do since she am has to manage it in a while in existence it doesn't matter what she comes to a decision... And like the woman earlier than stated her moms and dads will develop to the thought and sure there is a hazard they're going to unfastened it however the will not hurt her or the youngster. So inspire her to make her choices on the way to improvement her eventually.

sounds like she's going through meopause.... you said, she had a hysterectomy a few years ago... if they removed her ovaries, is she still on or just gone off hormone replacement therapy? ... if they didn't remove her ovaries, it's likely that they've stopped producing estrogen or producing it in such low amouts, it's affecting her moods.... likely she needs to see her gynacologist and get assessed...
