The reason for termination that they stated was because I put on my time sheet 12pm on 8/29 and I called in sick on 9/14 but did not indicate sick time. On 8/29 I was at work at 8am and left at 10:30 for lunch and came back at 12. The boss called me and told me to put 12 on my time sheet, so I did. I never put in i am there at 8 everyday because the company doesn't pay overtime, and I want to avoid traffic in the mornings so i just get there early. on 8/30 he came in and we had a verbal discussion about coming in 30 minutes late and i apologized and said it wouldn't happen again which it didnt. on 9/14 i called in sick but did not indicate on sick time because time sheet was turned in on 9/12 for that pay period (9/01-9/15). i had sick time accrued so i dont know why they wouldn't adjust the time sheet for sick time on that day. i dont know if my pregnancy had to do with any of this but do these reasons seem right for terminating my employment?

So I don't know why people are attacking me for asking a question.. stop being rude. The time sheet thing is how they trained me to do it, so don't be rude and say things like I was falsifying records or I am being inconsistent. I asked my manager what the process was of turning in a time sheet and he said that we get paid on the 15th and last day of the month but we turn in the time sheet two days before we are supposed to be paid.. meaning we write down our scheduled work time from the 1st to the 15th but we turn it in on the 13th. Read and understand my question before answering. Thanks.

Apply anyway. You were terminated with cause, in your cause falsifying time records, so you are not eligible, but your company many not object to your claim.

I see TWO problems with your statement...you said you left at 10:30AM for LUNCH???? and didn't return until NOON.... that's an hour and a HALF for lunch... would Love to have worked in a place that gave me THAT long for lunch... then, if I understood you correctly you said that you come in early every day to avoid traffic and in the next breath you state you were 30 minutes LATE the very next day.... and then, 2 weeks later you called in on 9/14 SICK but could not at it to your time card as SICK TIME for the 14th because time cards are turned in on 9/12 for the payperiod that ENDED 3 days LATER on 9/15---now I would have to ASSUME then that for that 3 day period (9/12-9/15) NO ONE could have time on their time cards for ANY of those 3 days after 9/12 if they ALL were turned in 3 days earlier on 9/12 as you said .... so therefore you were the ONLY PERSON in the office to take any time AT ALL off from 9/12-9/15??????? I've worked in a state office for 35 YEARS dealing with time cards every single day as a SUPERVISOR, and your statements sure don't sound KOSHER... especially if time for the 9/13, 9/14 and 9/15 could NOT have been added TO the card since the card was turned in on 9/12.... We were NEVER allowed to turn in time cards (IN ALL 35 YEARS) before the day AFTER the payperiod . The day the new time period starts was ALWAYS the day time cards for the previous pay period are handed in....it would be IMPOSSIBLE for anyone (in YOUR scenario) to add any time they took off on those 3 days IF EVERYONE HAD TO TURN IN TIME CARDS ON 9/12,. That said... UNLESS you aren't telling us EVERYTHING here (which I think COULD BE THE CASE).... the company COULD have let you go for "TIME CARD TAMPERING"---you SAID te boss told you to put 12 on your time sheet...... so MAYBE he is accusing you of being out of the office (between 10:30AM and Noon) when it wasn't a scheduled LUNCH HOUR????? I don't know but you aren't explaining it very well.... BUT, if you are pregnant and they have given you problems over your being pregnant in the past, this COULD be a discrimination case, but you sure would have to explain the time card thing a little better because the way it sounds, it COULD be that the boss was trying to "set you up"... OR, he caught you dead to rights messing with the time cards--which in MOST offices is an immediate grounds to be fired....

WOW all these conflicting excuses, but then again does not matter no you cannot collect unemployment for being fired from what appears to be trying to manipulate the system. Pregnancy has nothing to do with it although nice touch. Read your post again and see the inconsistencies

If you work in the U.S. for an at-will employer then they have the right to let you go. You should file for unemployment to see if you can qualify for benefits.

If you want to pursue it you could visit your local office of the EEOC and discuss wrongful termination with them.

I would go and apply for unemployment - the worse that will happen is they say no but often they do not say no so give it a try.

You should apply and let the "administrative law judge" decide at your unemployment hearing. Good luck.
