This is for animalluv,
Not all dogs fight when a large group are brought together. You would be surprised when a group of the same breed meet. They know their own.
Obviously you have never seen a couple dozen Labs when their owners get them together. Labs are interested in a cople of things, who has the food and who is going to throw the ball/retrieving dummy.
A group of people in the dog club I belong to has a Sheltie shindig every few months. They don't have any major squabbles. You can't stereotype all dogs, especially ones that have had obedience training and get along with most other dogs.

Some pit bulls do have dog aggression issues, because they have been bred to have dog aggression in the past. But through selective breeding and early socialization this can be eliminated. And pit bulls have never been bred to be aggressive toward humans in any way. So some Pit Bulls I'm sure have to stay home. But there are a TON of pit bulls who come from reputable breeders and responsible owners who are not dog aggressive at all, and these will be the Pit Bulls who go out on Pit Bull Awareness Day. Any responsible owner who participates in Pit Bull awareness day will know their own dog, and know who is allowed around other dogs and who isn't, just as any responsible owner of ANY breed should know.
And I have not heard that you can't take your Pit Bull with you, unless they are banned in your city, in that case you shouldn't have a pit bull to begin with. So I don't know what you are talking about, really.

Because *some* Pit Bulls are known to have dog aggression (COMPLETELY different from human aggeression) and it is seen as a breed standard. So in a crowd of Pit Bulls, there is a good chance that a few of those will be dog aggressive and no one wants a dog fight to happen. It's just common sense to not get hundreds of them together-- even if 99 out of a hundred are good, that single one that doesn't like other dogs could start a fight with one of the non-dog-aggressive ones.
But all of the media hype about Pit Bulls is wrong, so try not to listen to all of those myths that people spout off about the breed. Here's a good page to start with http://www.pitbulllovers.com/
EDIT: And APBTs may have been bred for bull baiting then later used for dog fighting, but so what? I have one that gets along with all other breeds, and cats, ferrets, chickens, goats, and horses...so maybe you need to do some research instead of going with everything the media says. Keep in mind that Pit bulls were also bred to work closely with humans and not show human aggression...while dogs like Dogo Argentinos, Dobermans, Schnausers, and Akitas were bred to be guard dogs and to harm humans. Not to mention, Pit Bulls passed higher on the national temperament tests than breeds such as the Labrador Retriever, which is seen as the "family" dog.

that is up to the organization putting on the event in each area....one reason some have ask to not bring your dog is that you always have that one irresponsible person that brings their dog to look "cool" and it has NO clue how to interact because this is the only time in the last year it has left the chain in the back yard......well trained and socialized dogs are a joy but this is a day to concentrate on the BSL issues facing us and to celebrate the bully breeds for the true heroes they are and to remember all those that have lost their lives to fighting, abuse,BSL and irresponsible owners......this is a day for people to learn so if you own a true breed ambassador contact the sponsors and ask about bringing your dog.as far as your smart *** comments not ever bully breed is animal aggressive and you should take time to attend an event in your area and maybe you could learn something.....if you go with an open mind!!!!!!

Why NOT??? pitbulls are not naturally aggressive. Do your homework before asking an uneducated questions. But then if you were educated you probably wouldn't ask that question!

all the different pit bulls would fight and kill eachother. that is how it would be with all dogs. pit bulls are much bigger and stronger so, little hildren could get killed and it would be a huge mess.
