Just smile,even when he is asking a serious question,keep smiling, he will smile back and say "what?"
After that, i think you should answer back his serious question.
Then keep smiling..its fun and if he "gets it" you 2 will be talking about anything and everything.

well I am a guy. You should try meeting him when he is alone and if you do meet him try talking about what happend today or whay are you doing on your weekend and other stuff like that OK
