The above mentioned video does not, actually, restore the image to it's original colors. It shows you how to paint some colors back in, and, with a skilled user, can get very natural results. If not properly done, the result may look like a bad make up job.

By all means, go ahead and try the method. Just don't expect easy one or two click fixes. The more you try, however, the better you will get.

You just learned a hard lesson!

This is why you ALWAYS work with a copy of your original when doing photo editing. The only format you can turn back to it's original state is RAW.

If you are lucky (really lucky), there might be a copy in some temp folder somewhere.

If it's been save that way - as a sepia - and you don't have the original color file ... sorry, you can't.
