We have unhealthy attitudes toward sex without religious influence. Where in the Bible or any other holy text is sex described as immoral? Thou shalt not commit adultery doesn't cover all forms of sex.

I would have to agree with your responders, "beauty" and "papa"...the Bible has many places where the text clearly indicates, WHY you should be "faithful" to your marriage partner, and what happens to those that are not.

Numbers 25:1-4
1 While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women, 4 The Lord said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of these people, kill them and expose them in broad daylight before the Lord, so that the Lord's fierce anger may turn away from Israel."

Jer 3:9 - Because Israel's immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.

Mt 15:19 - For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Mr 7:21 - For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,

Ac 15:20 - Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Ac 15:29 - You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.

Ac 21:25 - As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality."

Ro 13:13 - Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

1Co 6:13 -"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

1Co 6:18 -Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

1Co 7:2 - But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

1Co 10:8 - We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did--and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died.

Ga 5:19 - The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

Ga 5:19 - The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

Col 3:5 - Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

1Th 4:3 - It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

Jude 1:4 - For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Jude 1:7 - In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Re 2:14 - Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality.

Re 9:21 - Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

In conclusion..I pray that the above verses are sufficent enough for you? (Aside from the DIRECT commandment of Thou shalt NOT commit Adultery! )

Well you're correct. The Bible does not equate sex and sexuality as being immoral. It really does not go into detail on the subject but does state the marriage bed is undefiled, that whatever goes on between consenting adults is between them. That is, at least what I see from the text.

God is the one who created sexuality and sex and so it would be pretty strange if He condemned it. So much sexual frustration and neuroses have been created in the name of religion in this area when it should be the other way around.

Fornication does though.
Fornication, (Por-nei’a)
Hebrews 13:4 and 1 Corinthians 6:9 establish that God disapproves of both adulteryi and fornication (Greek, por-nei’a). What does the latter include? The Greek term involves the use of the genital organs in either a natural or a perverted way with lewd intent. It includes all forms of illicit sexual relations outside of Scriptural marriage. So it includes oral sex, despite the fact that many teenagers around the world have been told or have come to the conclusion that oral sex is acceptable. True Christians do not guide their thinking and actions by the opinions of profitless talkers, and deceivers of the mind. (Titus 1:10) They hold to the higher standard of the Holy Scriptures. Rather than try to make excuses for oral sex, they understand that Scripturally it is fornication, por-nei’a, and they train their conscience accordingly. Acts 21:25; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Ephesians 5:3.

definite, sexuality is generic. that's some thing that one and all human beings experience. whether or no longer sexual intercourse is immoral is in the attention of the beholder. the object replaced into interesting. it relatively is magnificent to work out a Christian based employer tell human beings to rejoice with intercourse devoid of guilt while in the previous faith and guilt for sexual needs have been consistently tied at the same time.

It was hard to choose just one verse because there are so many but this is a start. Sexual immorality is sex outside of marriage.

1 Corinthians 5:10-12 (New King James Version)

10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

Sex is Divine Force given to human for procreation with pleasure and same force wasted for sheer fun has to be controlled . Sex is not only force for giving birth to children. It is force to Re-Create One's Own Soul too. if Sex wasted for fun is Mud. If Sex used for Spirituality is Lotus. But to control man, religious fear is needed. This could be done by Religious percepts only as man can behave with religious sermons only. so they put it in Bible that Sex is immoral . But fear of Hell or Death by hanging has not deterred man to indulge into Sex. it seems the man savors any thing gained with Stealing and secretly too.
secrecy is the Fun element and Stealing is the ego function.
not only Bible, but all religious books consider Sex and adultery as immoral. even pioneers of sex in Hindu Era too have considered Adultery immoral. This is one way to deter man from wasting his own life.

How exactly is it "unhealthy" to believe that sex outside of a committed monogamous relationship can cause physical and psychological damage. The bible describes virtually all types of sex outside of a marital relationship as immoral...and I believe from personal experience that God knew EXACTLY what he was talking about. I've had friends contract all sorts of diseases as a result of sex...a few were fatal. Depression, heartache, unplanned pregnancy and more...sex is hardly without consequences.

It is immoral to engage in any behavior that can hurt yourself or others. Yes, some people can engage in sexual activity outside of marriage without suffering any consequences (at least none they are aware of at the time), but I can shoot a gun out the window of my car and not hurt anyone, does that make it moral to be careless with a firearm? I can choose to eat three meals a day at McDonald's (super size me!)...if I don't gain a ton of weight or develop a coronary condition, does that make it right?

God wants us to treat our bodies with respect...to take good care of ourselves and avoid things that can hurt us. Sex within a marriage consistent with God's definition of marriage is a wonderful thing...it isn't at all immoral. However, sex outside of that kind of relationship has consequences. I'd argue that most people who have engaged in sex outside of God's plan have regretted the decision at least once...and not because of religious influence but because of how that experience affected them.

Sex or sexuality is not immoral. It was created and designed by God as good. It is sex out of its designed context, which is marriage, that the Bible considers immoral.
The Bible condemns all sexual acts that do not come with the committment of marriage. The Bible doesn't just mention adultery. The term fornication is used in scripture to refer to all forms of sexual immorality.

Sexuality is not immoral, just a natural part of being human. The only immoral sex there is is rape, child molestation and cheating on your spouse. Sex between consenting adults is not sin and is perfectly OK. It is because of religion(s) that influences unhealthy and paranoid beliefs/feelings of sex.

There is a time and a place for everything. The time and the place for sexual expressions is within the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman.

So, that being said...sex is not moral or immoral. When and how one chooses to express the sexual relationship is what causes it to be moral or immoral.

Sex in and of itself is not immoral. Sex within marriage is not immoral. Scripture states that any practice of sex outside of marriage is not acceptable.

It was God who made man male and female, and His declaration was that His creation was very good.
