This guy and I have been friends for ten years. To me he is more than a friend. I have already bought him a watch, cuff links, and cologne for other x-mas's. This year for x-mas he bought tickets for a concert and dinner reservations on him, he already told me. So, how does a girl compete with that. I want to get him something good.

If I were him,I'd like to have a necklace that has a pendant that reminds me of you.

Or you could go for something personal....how about a photo album with photos reminding him of the good times you shared (plus comments on each one) ?

No, you can't accept an expensive gift from someone who is just a friend, especially if you feel he may expect a relationship to develop afterward. Some may tell you that you should just go ahead and take the earrings, but don't buy it! If he tries to give you the earrings, tell him you appreciate the thought, but that you can't possibly accept them. Don't make excuses and don't start a back-and-forth conversation about why you can't. Just repeat the same reason.

Does he have any hobbies? Like, video games, rock climbing, etc? Go to a store that specializes in that area, talk with a "Helpful Representitive" and get some top of the line thing for his hobby! Good luck!

wow, i haven't even done my x-mas shopping yet!

i don't really think its all that nice to compete, but if you want to show him the same ammount of gratitude, get him something he might need or really want. last year, my friend had a suite tailored especially for me which was pretty cool.

but hey, if you're looking to make a move on him, get naked and wrap yourself up in a ribbon and show up in bed. LOL just a joke....well...maybe, i think thats an awsome gift!

I just saw at Costco this mini car for $120. It's a fun gift for the boy in every man. You can ride on the tiny thing.

but him a nice humidor. (if he's the type who would have a cigar for a special occasion) You can get some really beautiful humidors in different woods that have a lock and key and have a plate to engrave something meaningful on. You can buy him some nice cigars too, to get him started. This is what i did for my honey for his birthday. He loves it!
