To help prevent cavities. Flouride helps prevent cavities.

The link, below, has an excellent explanation of the benefits of using a fluoride (not "flouride") floss; it'll be a little advanced for most Yahoo Answers users, but I think you'll get the gist of it. And that's the "tooth"! ;)
