Not necessarily. If you'll drop a couple of drops of vegetable oil into each ear and rub it around, the mites will smother. Then, when you can get your cat off the ceiling.. :-) take a cotton ball and gently wipe the oil back out. Be sure to get all of the oil out. Good luck.

Yes, mites in cats ears are very common. If you take him/her to the vet they will give you a special solution to put in it's ears and then you'll have to take Q-tips to clean them out on a regular basis for about a week and then their all gone. Good luck

You can get drops , that some vets will give you. If your cat has mites it may very well get them again from another cat or eggs will hatch after you get rid if this batch. So having the drops on hand is helpful and lot cheeper than a vet visit everytime

Poor kitty! this can be very painful and cause infection and balance problems. My cat rec'd Animax for his mites, and also b/c he developed an infection. If you have more than 1 cat, take 'em all in. The vet will flush out their ears to provide some immediate relief. If your cat has claws, wrap it in a towel before putting drops in cuz they HATE it. Good luck!

You can buy over-the-counter ear mites drops, but I would recommend that you take your cat to the Vet if treatment is unsuccessful. Good luck!

I just call my vet and they let me come pick up stuff. It works much better than the stuff at WalMart or wherever and it's only like $10. No need to even take your cat in. Call first so they can have it waiting for you at the front desk.

There are washes you can buy at pet stores to get rid of the ear mites, if you're sure that's what it is.
