Okay so I went on a date last night with a guy that I had met through a mutual friend.

He took me out to dinner and when the waiter reached our table I was about to order but then my date cut me off and ordered for me.

As if I couldn't order for myself.

And to top it off he ordered an Asian salad that's got tons of nuts and I'm allergic to nuts. My esophagus closes up and I can't breath. So I changed the order to what I wanted.

When the waiter leaves my date grabs my wrist and asks me 'What the f uck was I thinking embarrassing him in front of the waiter like that?'

I freak out at his sudden change and excuse myself to go to the bathroom and make a detour to the door, run across the street a local Wal-Mart and inside I call my close guy friend to pick me up. I was scared the way that he reacted. I found a huge a s s bruise on my wrist this morning from when he grabbed me.

But now that I think about it...I didn't go too far last night, did I?

Some people (not all) feel that when a man orders for a women, it's a sign of respect or chivalry. Before a guy does that, he should have a clue as to what kinds of food the lady is likely to enjoy and ask her if she would like for him to order for her. (I love it when my husband orders a meal for me, but he's taken the time to find out what I prefer and he always picks just the right dish.)

It was your date that overreacted by grabbing you and cursing at you. Do not second guess your reaction to get to a place of safety. This guy has an anger management problem that will eventually blow up in his own face.

Consider yourself very fortunate that you found this out about him so early in the relationship.

"What the f uck were you thinking embarrassing him in front of the waiter like that?" More like what the f uck was he thinking grabbing you like that!" I'm glad you left his dumb a$$ in the restaurant looking like a fool sitting all alone. Girl, you got him good. I wonder how long he waited until he left. I cant even imagine what he thinking when you didn't come back. Good for you!! If he calls you tell him to "Kick Rocks and Lose your number"

No, wtf was wrong with him going on a power trip like that. What an ***, i would have done the same thing as you. If he didn't know about your alergies and doesn't understand that you can't eat stuff like that then he's a jerk for it. I would talk to the mutual friend and be like your friend is a powertripping d**k.

I feel you did the right thing, you were scared and he flipped out bigtime over some crap.

You did the right thing. He obviously has control issues and would surely wind up abusing you if you stayed with him.
