A new survey indicates that cursing in the workplace increases the camaraderie and helps relieve people of stress. It actually proved to bring the workers closer together when they were allowed to express their true emotions.

I read that article too. I'm a little unsure of how it could boost the moral of the work place. There's a woman in my office that drops the F bomb a few times during the week, and every time I here it from her mouth, I just cringe. I'm not comfortable with that at all. It's completely unprofessional. They day one of my clients over hears her, I will go off.

A lot of people would be offended by this and it really isn't professional but I have mumbled a few things to myself from time to time. Cursing really isn't an acceptable adult way to express emotions so I think it would be more productive to find other ways to relieve stress and increase camaraderie.

Actually Mr. Cardinal - I think it shows the "dumbing down" of America. We occasionally release a few f-bombs each week - but never in front of our clients. It truly is unprofessional. We now have a new employee and his favorite curse words are sh** and G.D. It's interesting to work with a man who opening swears on what a good Christian he is and then he says GD - which is obviously God's name in vain. What a world! Oh, and also, thank you for letting me vent!

It depends on the company. I work in a fairly laid back office. I've worked at larger companies that I would have never dared to curse. I do on occasion curse, then try to play it off like it was an accident. :)

Yes, I do. A lot. I am self employed, and renovate houses. There's a lot of fu#%ing swearing involved in construction.
