What I mean by 'tolerant' is: non-judgemental, or inclined to tolerate the beliefs, practices, or traits of others.

The best I've known have been non-denominational christians who try to follow the lessons of jesus rather than what their church tells them. Some have been some of the most decent people I've ever met.

Every human organization has a history of tolerance and intolerance. Christians are no more different in their tolerance of minorities than Americans. Americans were intolerant to Indians and African Americans. Christians too were intolerant and may still continue to be intolerant to different minorities as Jews, Homosexuals, etc. However, acts of intolerance on part of it's members do not make the Church as a whole intolerant, anymore than calling Americans intolerant for the acts of intolerance on the part of some towards Indians and African Americans.

There is no one church that can claim to never have a history of intolerance. As humans, we all have a past, and we all do have a future.

It actually depends on the individual church. Some churches in a denomination can be very good while there are others that are terrible. Not every church matches the denomination.

Also, define tolerance.

Christian is not a denominations. Various religions are denominations such as, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran etc.
Christian is someone who follows & believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christian was a slang back in the day for people who followed Jesus Christ. And there were no denominations at that time, only Christ church. Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church. Denominations came from man through the centruies.
