They call the OT "queen of heaven" idol, "Mary".
Catholics are not saved because they believe a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell. That's why they are idolaters.

You don't have to do it and Catholics are not the only ones... It is a sign of respect and it is 100% up to the person and personal preference. I don't bow down in front of statues, but I have seen people that do. It could be to pray or just because it is a tradition they were brought up with. There are many reasons but they definitely don't have to

Iam a Catholic, I have never bowed to Mary. I honor Mary as the Mother of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ God Almighty. I do bow before Christ on the altar and I also kneel at the altar, being that is where Jesus Christ is always present.
bowing-To incline the body or head or bend the knee in greeting, consent, courtesy, acknowledgment, submission, or veneration.
That is the definition of bowing, I dont see the word worship in there do you? And venerating is also showing honor and respect.
We do not woship anyone but God, we do not worship Mary. Do you know what the word honor means?
honor- high respect, as for worth, merit, or rank: to be held in honor.
You see honor means to show respect. Do you honor your parents? Do you also honor God? One should also honor Mother Mary.
Praying is conversing with God, we ask Mary to pray for us. praying is not worship. Praying is talking

We bow out of respect, just as you would bow (in former times) to a king because he was important. We do not think Mary is a god. We respect her and honor her because she was a holy woman and had an important role to play in salvation history. We don't ask her to grant us things either. We ask her to ask her Son FOR us, because He cannot refuse her anything.
Hope that clarifies...
God bless you.

Your question implies facts not in evidence, and is therefore irrelevent.
I don't bow before a staue of Mary, or even a statue of Jesus.
I bow or genuflect before the Eucharist, which is the body and blood of Christ, one of the four manifestations of Christ in the mass.

Sometimes anti-Catholics cite Deuteronomy 5:9, where God said concerning idols, "You shall not bow down to them." Since many Catholics sometimes bow or kneel in front of statues of Jesus and the saints, anti-Catholics confuse the legitimate veneration of a sacred image with the sin of idolatry.
Though bowing can be used as a posture in worship, not all bowing is worship. In Japan, people show respect by bowing in greeting (the equivalent of the Western handshake). Similarly, a person can kneel before a king without worshipping him as a god. In the same way, a Catholic who may kneel in front of a statue while praying isn’t worshipping the statue or even praying to it, any more than the Protestant who kneels with a Bible in his hands when praying is worshipping the Bible or praying to it.
Catholics use statues, paintings, and other artistic devices to recall the person or thing depicted. Just as it helps to remember one’s mother by looking at her photograph, so it helps to recall the example of the saints by looking at pictures of them. Catholics also use statues as teaching tools. In the early Church they were especially useful for the instruction of the illiterate. Many Protestants have pictures of Jesus and other Bible pictures in Sunday school for teaching children. Catholics also use statues to commemorate certain people and events, much as Protestant churches have three-dimensional nativity scenes at Christmas.

They themselves don't know why. They've been told to do it without questioning.
Now, which is greater the Creator or the creation? Does Scripture tell us to bow to the creation? And one wonders why the Catholics are so confused. They need spirit filled teachers who is knowledged in the Word of God to be able to teach what is truth. Problem is many Catholic Churches don't use the Bible. They use their cathoticsim(?) books.

According to Rome Mary is the Queen of Heaven, Mother of God, a perpetual virgin, without sin, co- redemptress who ascended into heaven; and mediator between humanity and Christ. Unfortunately no evidence for any of this in the Protestant canon.

her son nimrod tried to build a tower to heaven called babel, God knocked it down., So he laid with his mother to reincarnate himslef as her son callted tamuz
this is why you have mothers day, to worship her, and you celbrate the brith of her son tammuz or horus to the egyptians approximately nine months later
at christmas
major sun worshiping relgieons also worship him
this is why the japanese emprerors official birthday is on the 24th of december
