Stainless steel... doesn't break, easy to clean, inexpensive, doesn't cause pigment issues on noses (plastic can do this).

4 Ceramic bowls and 1 stainless steel. One of my previous dogs was allergic to plastic.
They have one GIANT Stainless water dish. I mean it's HUGE.

I have both ceramic and stainless. They eat out of stainless that is then picked up and put in the dishwasher. They have ceramic water bowls. Simply because I found some really cool ceramic bowls at a pet boutique.

I use ceramic bowls for food. She does have a plastic drinkwell fountain because the cats knock over anything that is sitting with water in it. I wash the water bowl every week and change the filter. Once every 6 months to a year I replace the whole thing and get a new one. I also wash the ceramic bowl daily :)

Stainless steel, except for one plastic one that I can put in the microwave - I'll replace that with the right ceramic bowl when I find it.

1. Ceramic, plastic for travel only.
2. I don't allow my dog to stick her head out of the window.
Hope I haven't ruined the funny part.
