What might cause my ankle and part of my foot to intermittently feel hot?

It just started 2 days ago, and I have no idea what types of things may cause it. I don't know if this matters, but I broke that leg, and tore a ligament in it, in either 1999 or 2000. Also, I never did go and get the cast. I just used that plastic and Velcro temporary thing they gave me and the crutches, and never went back because I have a nearly psychotic fear of seeing doctors, which should also explain why I'm asking here. Thanks, in advance, for your answers :)

Maybe you have some nerve damage there. I would have it checked out if I were you, but I think you know that. ;-)
