no i would stick to just cat food, they might get sick from the baby food, even though they love it. Just the way that cats love milk. Also baby food is probably not healthy for cats

Baby food is great for gettng a sick cat to start eating again--provided it's the meat varieties with no onion or garlic in them. The cats love it, it doesn't need to be chewed, and it'll get them going again on regular food if they've been reluctant to eat after an operation.

It's fine for them, but at 89 cents a little jar, rather expensive! I've tried the beef, turkey, veal and ham. The ham I thought had a little too much salt in it but the others all were great getting even my obstinant one eating again.

Well, baby food is actually used to entice the appetite of cats that are sick. Provided of course, that it contains NO onions or garlic. The reason for using baby food is that it has a strong scent, and cats that are sick often cannot smell well, and if they cannot smell the food, they will not eat it. The baby food is mixed with the cat food, and sometimes warmed.

So as a treat, it is all right. But for a major portion of their diet, it is not a good idea.

I had a cat once who lived to be almost 20 years old. He developed cancer towards the end of his life. I would feed him baby food because it was the only thing he could digest. I fed it to him on a spoon just like you would feed a real baby. I gave him mostly chicken flavor because he seemed to like that one the best.

I have seen it listed as a "bribe" food but I never got around to trying it and now have no need to.

If you're serving it as a treat, be sure to read the labels - you don't want to feed one that has onions or garlic. If there is such a thing, get one that contains meat only.
