I am a pantheistic atheist, or an atheistic pantheist... whichever you'd like... lol
So... for me, they are compatable. I do not believe in god(s), a creator, or magical things... but I find the universe, and everything in it, amazing.

As I understand it, pantheists believe that God exists and infuses every particle of the world/nature.
Atheists believe that there is no God at all.
I'd call that a pretty fundamental difference.

A pantheist DOES believe in divinity.
Typically, pantheism is the belief that there is divinity in everything and that a particular god is an aspect - like the facet of a diamond.

I can only speak for myself, because this is more of a personal view than a specific doctrine.
Fundamental:
I think the laws of physics are enforced opposed to apparent.
I think that the chaotic nature of the universe was a will.
Practical:
None in daily life.
