Absolutely possible!
I REALLY don't like my ex-husband... but to harbor anger towards him only hurts me and that is energy I choose not to give him. I love him as I would a stranger, I do my best to speak from a loving place when I must talk with him about our children and I wish no ill on him. Would I give the shirt off my back to him in a time of need... only if I felt that the action would not compromise me in any way... the same can be said for anyone who has caused you displeasure...
An interesting thought - what we dislike in others is merely an outpicturing of the qualities in ourselves that we are uncomfortable with....
Wow... so quick to give a thumbs down... LOL!

I believe if you love your brother and sisters then you will like them also. Why because you understand why they act the way they do. For example some of the women that are married treats single women like your about to steal their husband. This of course makes the single women feel a certain type of way but at least the single person can understand why the married women acts this way because of this system of things we live in today. In the world people try and still other peoples husband away all the time and since only Jehovah is the only one that can read hearts people are on guard even in the Kingdom Hall. So understanding why someone feels and acts the way they do helps to relate and also except why people may act the way they act and then you can love your brother or sister and like them at the same time. Now if someone in the congregation is just acting a certain type of way that is just not good then you go talk to that person and discuss what is going on. The one thing I love about Jehovah’s organization is that everyone wants to keep the peace and not too many unnecessary disputes arise.

In truth we are all neighbors, that includes the ones that hate you, and want to kill you, Loving your neighbor is giving them the opportunity to love or hate you first. Giving all love and respect first to your neighbor ( an open heart ) then if that is not returned you have no fault. you should continue to try if possible but not at the cost of your own well being. In most cases you will find love and respect breeds the same. but when it does not, protect yourself.

I don't exactly like everyone I come across, but at the same time, I am not going to be rude to them because of that. When God says "Love your neighbor" I interpret that as just being kind in general. I am a high school student, and I do the usual stand-up-for-the-kid-who's-getting-picked-on thing, but at the same time, I don't go around hugging them and saying "You're my best friend!", or hang out with them on weekends. We don't have to be extremists, especially because it creeps some people out! =]

That's not a horrible question. Love is an action and Love is a Verb. Love is patient, kind, rejoices in evil but does not delight in the truth. Anyone who says they have tried to walk in love towards someone they would prefer not to be around is either lying or a hermit. Some people are very obnoxious and abrasive in their personality. So not "liking" to be around them is totally normal. Nevertheless we should "walk in Love" and if we can't pray for the strength to do so, then you develop fruit of the spirit (love) according to Galations 5.

Not really... I mean, you don't have to send them gift cards at Christmas and invite them over for tea or anything. But if you can't pray for them, and mean it, then you aren't doing the Christian thing. You can't hate people, that's the main thing. Try not to think of someone in a disrespectful manner.

As Christians we are commanded to love.
As humans we have personality clashes.
You do not have to like some one to show christian love. You can show this love by respecting those you do not like or do anything to cause them harm & of cause not to hold back talking about our heavenly father too them if they are interested.

You pray for them with an open heart and don't let your resentment against him grow. Every time he bugs you, forgive him and understand the scared, ignorant little boy that is under the gruff bravado. Understanding helps me a lot with loving and forgiving.

Loving comes from pure acceptance. Humans are all the same in that we all want to be free from suffering. When you can recieve that then you can love everyone for who they are and not because of what they do for you.

Oh, that's a good one.
You might not like them personally - but you can be neighborly - i.e. friendly - take them soup if you know they're sick - send a card on a birthday, holiday or other occasion. Invite them to a special event at your church...and the like.
