wrong for me to request that people either thumbs up if they like it or just leave it alone if they don't? Since I asked shouldn't I be the only one thumb downing if I felt compelled to do so. (Which I don't agree with thumbs down since no answer is wrong it is just opinion) You either like it or leave it alone.

It appears you have issued some sort of challenge and every answer has more thumbs down than thumbs up. The thumbs down generally means nothing more than that someone doesn't agree with the answer. There are no points involved for the asker, answerer, or the one thumbs downing the answers. So just ignore them.

Sorry. As long as Yahoo keeps the system as is, people are free to thumbs up/down 'til their fingers pop.

I can understand why one might be annoyed at receiving thumbs down if that person has a desire to be accepted. But, personally, I don't really care. And, even if I did, I'd much rather someone give me thumbs down than respond to me in a negative manner.

P.S. I never give thumbs down. It's pointless as far as I'm concerned. But to each his/her own.

If I don't like an answer, I usually leave it alone. If I consider an answer rude or insulting, I will give it a thumbs down.

The "thumbs down" is just an opinion.
Ignore them when you get them.
I see what you're saying.
You don't want anyone who answers your questions to get a thumbs down, no matter what they say.

That is kind of you.

I think people are purposefully thumbs-downing the answers of this question just to tick you off.

I feel you 100 percent as it doesn't;t feel good to get them just for answering a way which you feel in your heart. Some people really get thrills from doing this and giving really mean answers,I say to these people grow-up and get a life...lots of luck always...

Methinks we are dealing with those who just HAVE to wield what little 'power' they have, it is juvenile, but it must give these folks a real 'trip', makes them feel important. I guess we just have to ignore it, and figure where it comes from.
