As of 2006, there were about 6.3 million weekly home bible study courses.
http://jw-media.org/people/statistics.htm
In the United States, Canada, and Europe, a typical "weekly home bible study course" of Jehovah's Witnesses has one or perhaps two students. Family heads are encouraged to include the entire family in the study, so even in these lands a single study occasionally represents four to six interested persons.
In areas (and language groups) where there are large numbers of interested persons and limited numbers of Witness teachers, it is much more typical for each "course" to regularly have four to six students who at first may not even know one another.
Technically, every Christian has an obligation to preach and teach, whether he knows the bible very well or not. Thus, Jehovah's Witness teachers do not carry any "certification" per se. However, a Christian who wishes to represent himself as a Jehovah's Witness in their formal ministry (which includes conducting these "weekly home bible study courses") must qualify to do so, generally well before he even qualifies for baptism! Those who are qualified for the formal ministry are called "publishers", and (when active) are the only ones counted in statistics of "active Jehovah's Witnesses".
(Acts 15:36) Above all things, let us return and visit the brothers in every one of the cities in which we published the word of Jehovah to see how they are.
In most cases, a "home bible study course" meets in the home of a student, but Jehovah's Witness ministers are generally agreeable to meeting in any peaceful location. Each student is encouraged to bring his preferred bible, but one can be provided by the Witness. Many or most students find that they benefit by using a bible study aid (such as the JW book "What Does the Bible Really Teach?") along with their bible, and by reading that material over before the study.
Jehovah's Witnesses will rarely study with young children outside of the parents' presence. Depending on local circumstances, Jehovah's Witnesses may be happy to study the bible with teenagers and older children who have the permission of their parents.
It seems best for anyone interested in arranging for a "home bible course" to speak with local Jehovah's Witnesses. The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses can help any interested person to understand how the matter is handled locally.

Vot has been going through random older Yearbooks, but due to my crazy exams now I have cut my "personal Bible study" from an hour once a week to several minutes every day (when reading the Bible before bed I search for articles in the WT Lib on some verses that sound "strange" and read those) BTW- We're studying the "Bearing Witness" as our CBS publication since the Russian Orthorities have some issues with the "Come Be My Follower", we're now in chapter 2. Lovely book :-).....

It would be interesting to know how many studies are being conducted in lands where the work is banned. I guess time will tell :)
I study with my four children once a week. Even though I came into the Truth when they were young, they don't really have any interest so it's been difficult. One of my bestfriends studies with my daughters so I let her count them instead of me even though I've recently joined in on their studies. She conducts.
At my Hall, we have 47 publishers... around 4 or 5 Regular pioneers and 3 or 4 auxillary pioneers. One of the regular pioneers has 3 studies or so. I'm not sure about the rest of them though. Most people at my Hall do NOT have studies. We live in a very small area and most people have their "own religion" or are apathetic.. and we country folk are so polite as a general rule that it's hard to tell when people are genuinely interested or just being nice. And even if a study or RV is started, it's hard to find them home again... the people around here don't like to commit to a particular time or day.

I think everyone has at least one study. 680 New ones each day are coming into the truth. Most in countries outside the USA. Kingdom halls are being build so rapidly that in areas where they never had them before they have them filled by the time they go up.
People wants a religion that tells them there is something more important then their salvation. God is proving Satan a liar. Because some people are being good. The earth will one day be ruled from heaven by Jesus Christ.
They want a religion that wants peace and refuses to fight.
We live by the old adage: "what if they called a war and no one came to fight?"

Aiden & Elijah's meemaw is right. The number 6,286,618 reflects the amount of Bible studies in 2006 and is consistent with the number printed in the 2007 yearbook. Did you know that these Bible studies come from 236 different lands!? Isn't that interesting?
I wonder how many Bible studies we'll have in 2007.
