What you describe is something that I call "future dreaming". I'm sure there is a more accepted term, but no matter what you call it, it is what it is. That is different from ESP. Future Dreaming is a psychic ability like Telekinesis. Since you have these experiences, there is not a slight chance, you definitely have the ability. I have that ability and several others. As to whether you should focus on using them, or just "when a situation pops up", that is a matter of personal choice. I chose to investigate my abilities, practice them, and hone them to a higher skill level that I could use "on demand". That choice may not be right for everyone. You also said that you would most likely forget about it and chalk it up to deja-vu. Since you know you have the ability, you'd be lying to yourself about the deja-vu explanation. I'd recommend if you feel that way to be honest with yourself and just realize that you have the ability, but forget about using it. You may even try to "turn it off". I can suppress many of my abilities, but Future Dreaming isn't one of them. I can't turn that one off. It happens when it happens, and I just have to deal with it. Future Dreaming can be traumatic for some, because not all of the dreams are pleasant or harmless. If you dream of a future tragedy (large scale or otherwise), you will most likely end up feeling bad because you are powerless to stop the event and the suffering that will come. It is not always easy to deal with the "gift".

But it's not a "free gift". There's all those pesky requirements and rules and dogma. The one I find most troubling is the requiirement that you buy into the idea that some sort of angel-human hybrid who was actually the son of god was born to a virgin and later was murdered and resurrected, and that only by believing that can you enter heaven. Quite a catch!

In the first place, it's a dishonest question. You do not really expect anyone anywhere to actually believe something on that basis -- you don't believe on that basis yourself.
To propose such a thing would mean that you personally would have an altar from every world religion in your home, and attend every religious service in your town, and pray to every alleged god -- you would have to believe in every single cockamamie assertion that promised heaven and threatened hell.
I hate it when people try to sell "Truth" by lying.

Don't bother with these people their blind with self righteous. They think their whole life is a party, they are in for a big surprise. But, for the believers your message is an inspiration may God bless you and use you in mighty ways.

If there's even the slightest chance that you're being controlled by an organized religion instead of being free to live your own life all for nothing wouldn't you quit being such a mindless zombie? What if you die and it all just goes black? Wow that'll be embarassing!

Go stick a butter knife in a light socket...
If you die, you'll go to heaven to be with God and Jesus and all the angels...
If you don't die...you haven't lost anything...
So....what's the harm???
Go jump in front of THAT....
